The first time I visited Thailand years ago, I stayed at the Residence Garden. The original entrance is closed and has moved down to where it is now. There used to be a restaurant right by the old entrance and I remember they used to have an older guy, singing Elvis's songs. The food was good, the singing was passable. :) The rooms I stayed in were nice and the service was good. I have not had a reason to stay in hotel in a very long time but every time I pass it, I remember spending the Christmas and New Year's holiday there and seeing the nightly fireworks for about two weeks. Good memories.

Really Trev it never ceases to amaze me just how many electrical cables are hanging around within reach of public traffic. However, most are data cables which pose no threat but there is still the risk of low voltage cables being in the mix… 12-24 volts are insignificant but any higher say 48 volts + can pose an electrical shock…Best thing Thai officials can do is place warning signs where necessary. T 25. Is a large bistro with a large stage for Thai concerts all thoses buses you seen walking down the soi where about 400 people can eat and enjoy live concerts music there about 4 times a week . Jc

Between The residence Garden and Kudo's Boutique was Mr Mac Hotel, i used to stay there for 800 Baht a nite. It' not a bad area being in- between Pattaya and Jomtien with the Baht bus at your door.

Excellent Greek food and inexpensive at Pratumnak Soi 6 next to Seven Eleven. Moved from Treetown Food Court to a bigger place and expanded menu. I think name "Eat Greek"

We have been coming to Pattaya for over 20 years now…we just don’t really notice the girly bars/ lady boys any more it’s their business/ way of life so as long as it doesn’t interfere with us it’s not a problem but if you want to see the world then go to Pattaya😉😂

Manhattans has been closed for years mate. To be honest, you’re straddling the line between Phratamnak and Thappraya. Phratamnak is by far the best neighborhood, bought my first Thai condo there.

With the weed shops people generally take it and go elsewhere. Plus most smokers buy larger amounts cos it makes it cheaper. And I wouldn’t worry about the changeover to becoming medical marijuana, it’s as you very well know Thailand..it’ll be a rubber stamp on a card and then business as usual. And it won’t be heavily monitored regardless

Returning 2/15-3/2. I used to stay at the residence garden every trip from 2003 to the Wuhan virus fiasco. When I came back 1.5 years ago, the left side was trying to be sold. Didn't make it from the fiasco. The right side is still available but the restaurant is closed so not worth staying. It's a bit out dated but I liked it for the location and restaurant. Now, I always stay at the Areca. I wish the residence garden would reopen the left side though.

Every weekend the city is inundated with Thai people visiting from Bangkok and Rayong. There are also huge industrial estates nearby and likewise we have one of the biggest ports in Thailand with Lam Chabang

You need to take care of the blood pressure. It's called the silent killer. I'm close to your age and I've had 2 friends pass because they didn't take their meds. I have a third friend that just lays there with his eyes open. They all knew they had high blood pressure. The medicine is extremely cheap.
