I loved the video. The fish snack you ate is called Omena in kenya and yes we snack it deep fried dry-yummy-though it;s more commonly eaten dry or wet stewed. I pity the elders alone with children. The village is without good noice and laughter that youthful generation brings. Would love to interact with the villagers about an exchange program to have many young people from my area staying there a few months a year to borrow some life tips and bring ours to Henan.

Reminds me of when I was living in Nanyang, Henan. I used to get on my moped with my girlfriend and just drive and when we saw an interesting place in the countryside we would walk and I would take photos. The people there were always so nice to us. Such good memories. If you can please do some more videos on Nanyang and the surrounding countryside. p.s. you can see some of my photos on my channel.

I teach in Henan Province, and while I'm making the most of the situation, if I had to do things over again I would have chosen somewhere else. Zhengzhou is one of the most boring cities I've ever visited. By contract, Shanghai felt exciting while Xi'an had so much history. Same with Beijing - where I spent a year - and Tianjin. I spent hours walking around those cities. But in Henan, the cities all look the same. They are a sea of sprawling apartment blocks seemingly with no end.

I taught in Nanyang from around 2012 and for a time it was amazing, but I saw how old neighborhoods were knocked down and replaced by shopping centres. I would often go out with my girlfriend but found with each passing year the city had become boring. Very similar to the villages in India, specifically the northern plains region. Only difference is that you will also find some younger people in them who are actively involved in agriculture especially during the harvest seasons. And more domesticated/farm animals.
