I love places like that. I used to live a few blocks from the KC Ren faire. The only thing is the smell of the turkey legs got overwhelming and started to make me sick to my stomach when I was around it.

You really should try LARP! It is definitely fun. I'm doing LARP for about 30 years now and have not yet gotten tired of it. I definitely also enjoy to go to ren-faires in character, but they have more a Festival vibe while in LARP you are part of the action yourself. I think you'll love it! Unluckily (but not surprisingly) this was a very bad year for LARP as well as for ren-faires, because almost everything got canceled because of the corona virus, but let's hope this nightmare ends anytime next year.
