Meghalaya is a state in Northeast India. The name means "the abode of clouds" in Sanskrit. The population of Meghalaya as of 2016 is estimated to be 3,211,474.
The state is the wettest region of India, recording an average of 12,000 mm (470 in) of rain a year. About 70% of the state is forested. The Meghalaya subtropical forests ecoregion encompasses the state; its mountain forests are distinct from the lowland tropical forests to the north and south. The forests are notable for their biodiversity of mammals, birds, and plants.

North East known as Tribals in the plain areas ... Once this name tribals come they think of us as people with spear, sword and a horn on our neck... Friends try to retrospect the word tribals in the context of north east and you will see the new meaning of us living here... The best thing about Shillong are its people, their warmth friendliness, the beautiful natural beauties and the cleanliness of the city. I used to live in Laban municipality (Batti Bazar) and each morning I'd take a up climb journey through a Steep narrow lane to a place called Hill top chataeo and climb down through a different normal road walk. Part of my morning walk... I miss it, it used to be so fresh... The air was so fresh that I could feel it like fresh oxygen. Wish I could go back. 😀

Next time you should definitely do Mawlyngbna, Mawphanlur, Mawphlang sacred groves, Kongthong, Krem Puri cave, Mawryngkhang rock, Kyllang rock, Nongkhnum River island, The waterfall trek, Weisawdong falls, Kshaid u Ren falls, Shilliang Jashar Root ladders, Byrdaw falls, Moopun falls and Rynji falls, Garden of Caves, Umden silk village, Marngar lake, Top of Kynrem falls, Sweet Falls, Phea Phea falls, Mawpdai hollow trees, Ranikor, Nongnah Plateau etc etc

Will miss this series the most. It began 2 weeks before my exam. Now my exam is over and I'm going back home for the winter vacation. My mother's home is close to that church. I was saddened to experience the bad traffic jams and the litter everywhere from tourists in 2016. Back in 2001 it was genuinely a clean hill paradise. Even here one can see litter on the grass. Pisses me off.

Love this series... everything in it: the aerial shots, the narration, the editing! And not to forget, Meghalaya and the people there! I have fond memories of this place, especially Shillong. Was there for almost a year... Have been to Dawki, Root Bridge, Cherrapunji, Tura...man, your vlog just brings me those sweet memories of the place! I am a NE guy myself, but not a Meghalayan...
