Exploring SITKA, ALASKA On Our Own | Plus Room & Food Issues, A Grumpy Guest, & PIER RUNNERS!

Our fifth day on Holland America Eurodam was a port day in Sitka, Alaska. We did not have any plans and opted to explore on our own. We had hoped to get to the Fortress of the Bear, but we ran out of time and didn't want to pay the high prices for transportation there. In this video, I discuss some issues we had been having with our room and with the food onboard, I share the story of witnessing a very unhappy passenger take out his anger on defenseless crew members, and I show you a part of the ship I hadn't filmed yet.

We took the Eurodam cruise the week before you, and I agree - we liked the buffet better than the MDR. We also experienced slow service in the MDR. We had fantastic room stewards.

Well, with the room issues and food issues, it sounds like there is room for improvement for the onboard experience here. But at least you didn't cause a scene like the guy at the buffet. I am always surprised when I see people who are supposed to be enjoying their vacation have a tantrum for everyone to see. Sitka looks like a nice community. Thanks for taking us along!
