I'm really glad you liked it! But you've just scratched the surface. There are a lot of hidden, not so obvious gems there. And a lot of stories connected to them. If you decide to come back, just let me know.

I loved Ljubljana and doing the many day trips. I too went to the cave and castle. Lake Bled and Vintgar Gorge. As a solo traveler I felt safe and the people wonderful.

Loved your series in Slovenia. Today’s was outstanding!! The choice of the upbeat music for this magical town was spot on. I could eat that barley soup (at least an vegan version of it) and a baguette every day! Thank you for your video’s.

Welcome to our tiny country. One remark though ... that potica you two were eating and were obviously very fond of :) is more like a souvenir thingy kinda, that's why they are so tiny ... the real potica is a few times bigger and probably even more delicious. So, I suggest, the next time you'll come to visit us, find the "real one" ... I'm glad you've enjoyed your time here, and you are welcome to come here anytime again
@francisang12584 ай бұрын
where can i find this 'real one'?
@zigalisjak4 ай бұрын
@@francisang1258 according to some tests, the cheapest and the closest mass produced you will get, while also additive free, will be the one made by Mercator (chain of markets on every other corner), though homemade ones can be even better and would be preferred, assuming you can find a good one. If you're a hiker, there's a good chance you will find a tasty one in one of the hiking huts, but as with anything, the quality of these, just like in the restaursnts, can vary significantly. Apparently they also bake and serve them on the Bled island itself, so if you plan to visit, that's another place one can try it. The wallnut one is the typical one and the only one referred to as only "potica" without having to mention the filling, as when no filling is mentioned, wallnut is generally implied. It is also pronounced poh-tits-ah / poh-tee-tsa, as the C in the name sounds like "ts" and not "k" as they mispronounce it in the video. www.blejskiotok.si/en/poticnica-2/

Did you know, Slovenia is one of the youngest country in Europe. It was used to be part of Yugoslavia along with Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro etc. Slovenia gained it's independence in 1991.

Legend says, that this castle prejamski grad, was inpenetrable, but the the servant put a light in the toilet when the owner was there. So the enemy knew what and where to target, and thats how the ownership changed

Wow! What an amazing castle, and I just love the look of the city! I haven’t been to Europe (other than multiple times to Finland because it’s my heritage) but I am definitely putting this onto my list. Btw, great music on this vlog… especially as you were riding the carts into the caves.

That’s pretty tight, I think the tour we did it with was as fast as you can get with doing both. (5 hours including transportation)

I loved Ljubljana! And it is such a fun name to say...after I finally figured it out LOL. I had an Airbnb on market square in November 2018. Chad has a definite penchant for small trains in enclosed places: Hallstatt and now Postojna! Speaking of castle life while under siege, have either of you read the YA book: A Door in the Wall by Marguerite De Angeli? Both my son and I loved it so much that we read it 2x while he was growing up. Oh! The dragons on the manhole covers! I also took photos of those. Here be dragons LOL

Is it possible to visit the cave and castle and then go to Bled?
@zigalisjak4 ай бұрын
Going to Piran / Portoroz / seaside would make more sense as Postojna is on the way (westward), while Bled is northward and you would have to pretty much pass Ljubljana again in order to get there. You could still do it in one day easy, but it would not be a continuation of the trip, rather a restart. Then overnight stay in Piran and boat ride to Venice in the morning for a day trip. I think it's awesome if the budget allows, though extremely crowded (Venice) in the summer peak. The boat ride itself is a nice way to go there and much prefered to a bus, but also more expensive...

Nope, it's natural. The castle was build in front and into this giant cave. Predjamski grad literally translates to Forecave castle.
