An excellent video Alice, with superb footage and commentary 👍👌. I recently read a book all about Boudica, so fortunately, do know about her tour. Thinking about how many superb old buildings have been demolished (and continue to be demolished) in this country, instead of being renovated and preserved, it's not surprising that very few Roman buildings and walls have survived here. I remember going on a school holiday to Dalston Hall (near Carlisle) in the 1960s, and one of the trips out was to Hadrians Wall. We were all about 14 years old at the time, so the majority of us didn't really appreciate what we were seeing.

Thank you for you comment. The Roman ruins near Carlisle would probably have been Luguvalium. An interesting location, but not too interesting when we were younger. Sadly so much of our heritage in in danger of being lost, mainly down to budget. Perhaps the super rich should help with the funding rather than adding to their super car collection!

I think we all draw our interests from our family, and I'm so pleased my grandfather was interested in the Romans and not football!

That is a beautiful mosaic. It looks so 'new' that it is hard to believe that it is two thousand years old.

There are some real gems of Roman life still around if you know where to look.

I didn't know Boudica had included Verulamium on her tour. I dimly recall visiting Verulamium Park in 1988 but I was a bit tired and just saw some bits of wall which didn't inspire me much so I went back into town. I had no idea that fantastic mosaic was there, I want to go and see that now.

Boudicca sacked Colchester first, then London, before St. Albans. She travelled west to meet the Roman army in battle, where her army all died. The location is we believe unknown. Well worth visiting, especially the museum.
