I live in London and I was planning to have a look at Hereford and Worcester this summer but it seems awkward and expensive to get to from London. It never occurred to me to visit Cardiff but anywhere with a castle is bound to be interesting.
@AliceGoss
@AliceGoss 12 күн бұрын
Nearly all towns and cities in Wales have a castle. In nearly all of my videos in this current series from South Wales I visit a castle. There are numerous in Monmouthshire as well as ruined abbeys and priories. Easy to get to on the coach also and not expensive compared to the trains.
@draoi99
@draoi99 5 күн бұрын
@@AliceGossI managed to get a return ticket London to Birmingham for £18 on the Trainline website. From there it costs me £22 return to get to Worcester by train. Booking 10 days in advance it's good value. I'll also take a day trip to Hereford, that's £12 off peak return from Worcester. It's only this year I discovered that train travel needn't be astronomically expensive if you just book a bit in advance.

I like the pier, no awful dodgems or spinny things, just a nice walk out to the sea, at high tide at least. We have a stone beach like that here in Ireland, at Bray, and I hated it!
