As an American tourist in London I love these videos. Especially the parts where you display your utter contempt for American tourists. If I see you out and about where I'm touring, I'll be sure to give you a big high-five and say something obnoxious.

Great video, Andrew. You’re up there as one of my absolute favourite Scottish, London-focused, moderately transport-themed, periodically uploading, KZbinrs. Well done!

Awesome content! The "Tidlewave of Beer" reminds me of "The Great Boston Molasses Flood" in my own city. Perhaps Beer made for a more enjoyable way to go...?

Well, it's now over a year later, coronavirus has joined the brexit plague, Crossrail still hasn't opened and nobody yet knows where brexit is going. I was sad to note the passing of that rather fey 1960's fountain in front of Centrepoint.

I don't live in England, but your question about what is the history of where I live is worth commenting. I'm in Virginia, in an area that Native American's inhabited and did perfectly fine for thousands of years before the Brits showed up and drove them to extinction pretty much. Then it became part of parcels of farms and so forth and then battle grounds for the Civil War. Many locals claim to see Civil War ghosts from time to time and eerily we hear guns firing at odd times. Now we're just part of the community commuting to Northern Virginia or running businesses to supply that population. We also are part of the 55+ retirement boom. Boomers. Yes. So, Native Americans, Brits, Slave Owners, Civil War and Suburbia.

😕 my backyard is unceeded coast Salish territory, stolen from the people who lived on the land since time immemorial by European settlers, who have since erased most of the oral history of the region through a series of cultural genocides... and from 1890~ - 1956 an electric interurban tram ran through the area.
