Fun fact of the day: the woman on those lime green french stamps is actually french actress Laetitia Casta who was chosen in 2000 to be the face of Marianne, the emblem of the french state and values. More traditional stamps (as well as coins) generally feature Marianne with a generic, anonymous appearance. Nobody asked for this but I felt compelled to share.

nice vid. btw, at 22.15, the "general" is infact a belgian king (boudewijn) . funny to see how it was only 9 franks to send a letter by airmail at that time. (that's about 22 eurocents)

aw0j and wikipedia are correct. its switzerland's name in greek. usually pronoused as ELVETIA although written with english characters so everybody can read them. and it's female :)
