In the first episode we explore Tehran and show you the best things to do in Tehran on and off the tourist path paired with food recommendations and tips how to get around.

As for many tourist visiting Iran, the capital Tehran has been our first stop and introduction to the country. We used our time in the city to explore the best things to do in Tehran by focussing on attractions and spots that are interesting for younger travelers paired with important historic landmarks.
Beside typical tourist attractions we wanted to see what the real Iran is like and reached out to local friends for further recommendations. This way we got to go to places locals use to hangout, have a coffee or simply relax from the hustling and bustling city center. We used various local transport options and explain how you can get around on the cheap. Last but not least we give a few recommendations for typical persian dishes you should try when visiting.
This part of the trip was executed within 1,5 weeks - following I list all the places I visited & Things to do in Tehran:
- Azadi Tower
- Golestan Palace
- Ivan Cafe, Sam Cafe, Reera Cafe, Saboos Cafe
- Sofre Kuhne (Ferdowsi Sq.))
- Tochal & Bam e Tehran
- Grand Bazaar & Tajrish Bazaar
- Former US Embassy Tehran & Den of Espionage
- Honarmandan Park
- Sa’dabad Complex
- Milad Tower
- Negarestan Garden
- Masoudiyeh Palace
- National Garden
- Moghadam Museum
This video is part of „Inside Iran“ - a documentary series introducing you to popular and unknown sights / things to do in Iran as well as the Persian cuisine and the super friendly locals we met on our trip from Tehran to Isfahan, Shiraz and Yazd. With this series I want to create a better understanding of the country and it’s people without focussing on politics or religion.

Both my parents are from Tehran but I was born and raised in Los Angeles California. I've been to Iran a total of five times I'm going back this summer when I'm done with school, I hate the terrible reputation that the media gives Iran. It makes me so happy to see people like you trying to change people's perspectives and actually giving my country a chance. Thank you

I'm glad you liked it and I'm happy to share my experiences with the world this way and show that no matter where we are from or which beliefs we might have it all comes down to people - and here I meet so many lovely humans around the world. The hospitality I got to experience in Iran was outstanding, not to mention the rich history and impressive sights I got to learn and see. Thanks for watching & supporting :)

I'm from the US and I think Iran is an interesting country. I've been reading about Iran and I think it's an underrated country due to the political problems. From the pictures and videos I've seen it looks like a clean country with amazing landscapes like Shirz Canyon, the Caspian Forests and the amazing beaches on the Persian Gulf. Our two governments can't get along but that doesn't mean we can't think nice things about each other. Awesome video about the Tehran the media never shows. Peace. ✌

As an American, I am overwhelmed at the absolute beauty of this city. I wish relations between our two countries were on better ground. Iran has such a rich culture and I would truly love to experience it. I bear no ill will towards any citizen of this country. The people there seem to be very warm and inviting. Not every culture can be nor should be like America. Those differences are what should bind us together instead of creating distain.

Man, I am reading all the comments and I cant help but feel sad. I am sad to see how the governments of the world separate people who are virtually the same. Iranians are fed info that The United States is bad and here in the United States we are fed info that the Middle East is unsafe and anti-american. But you can talk to a young Iranian and a young American and you'll find so many similarities, they like spicy food perhaps, like to read fantasy books, love their family, want to travel, etc. We are all humans and we are all family. I personally love Middle Eastern culture. I want to embrace it more, I want to try the foods, talk with the people, learn the language. Spread love and don't close your minds to the outside world because of bad political blood.

Yeah most nations are beautiful and it is the politics that is causing so much confusion. Iran is a great nation with an amazing music and cultural tradition. I assume that it was only from the 1990s that Ghana Passport holders could visit without any impediment. A visa is still necessary to visit in the 2020s

You guys are awesome - thanks! I'm happy to help you out if you intend on visiting the country. Does Sam have another passport than the Canadian one? Visa restrictions could be an issue for you in matters of traveling independently as I did (Canadians are officially required to have a tour / be with a tour guide all the time). But the outcome of the recent election spark hope that the situation could be improving the more the country is opening for tourism.

Don't lean under Americans?! They hate Americans because Americans stopped those basic muslims from from genociding each other for 3000 years Shia vs Sunni. Also Russians Don't like America because they had creamed by Americans in world wars But Not the same with germans because they are witfull people and can see the reality.
