We drove the 7 hour plane crash trail through Wisconsin and Michigan's upper peninsula in Jeep Wranglers. We explored several other cool trails and saw plenty of cool sites on this 4 day epic road trip.
Keweenaw Rock Range is at the eastern most point of the Keweenae Peninsula which is the most northern part of Michigans Upper Peninsula. It's was also the destination of our most recent adventure. We ran a slightly modified version of the 7 Hour Plan Crash Trail. This trail was 280 miles long from its starting point in Crandon Wisconsin. Of that 280 miles about 260 miles of it was dirt and gravel roads. It took us 16 hours over the course of two days, and that's not even including the 4.5 hours and almost 300 mile drive to Crandon. We also got the opportunity to explore several other awesome places in the U.P. including a 100+ foot tall waterfall, a 120 year old mine shaft, an abandoned mine tunnel, and abandoned buildings. In total we drove 1150 miles and spent 42 hours in the jeeps over the course of a 4 day weekend.

As someone who lives in that area and knows that hole you struggled on on the cliff mine trail. Please make a few attemps and then winch instead of digging out the trail for everyone else. Let everyone enjoy it instead of destroying it
@JeepsLimited
@JeepsLimited 3 ай бұрын
@zetajno I can appreciate that however I don't think it's far to say we destroyed it. It was obvious destroyed when we got there. And to be far we did attempt to take the already made bypass but couldn't make it through those either. Overall we are very respectful to the trails.

@JeepsLimited Then you should have turned around. Just because other people have done it, doesn't make what you did right. Locals attempt to fix the damage (to the best of our ability) that is done every year, and this behavior continues to make it difficult. Every year, when it's this muddy, we tell people to let things dry out first. Every year, more damage is done by people who don't live around year. We want people to have fun, but this is poor trail etiquette.

A buddy and I did this in June 2024. After getting my Gladiator stuck in the same hole that F250 was in, we also turned around and found a bypass. Kaine Lake Road seems to get the best of a lot of us! I couldn’t believe the OnX route doesn’t include the Bill Nichols trail, which we also added to our route. Great video. Helped relive some memories from our trip. Best advice to anyone is to plan ahead as much as possible and do this trip with a buddy.

We were there just a week or two before you. We did cliff in reverse and that rocky hill was fun to climb. My TJ on 31s ran circles around the other two mini monster truck jeeps in our group. Its like having a big, but way cooler side by side. Gearless leader almost got stuck going down that big mud spot you climbed in his 4 door.

Enjoy the video thank you for the share, reason I found a very interesting as well as I am planning on running that trail this coming weekend. So I know the spring was pretty wet up until the point you were up there some of those mud hole areas I’m a little leery about only because I’m gonna be up by myself. I am on 35s lockers, Jeep Wrangler. I am currently mapping my route now out of Crandon on ONx. by the way, thanks for the name of the road with the trestles. I wanted to go on that and thought you’d like to share with me.?

@jr_jeep4470 the trail with the bridges is the Bill Nicholas trail. If you go north east on highway 26 right out of Mass city about a mile it crosses the highway so you can miss it. Just turn left onto the trail and head east.

Nice video, the wife and I are planning a trip to the UP this fall. The part of the trail where it took you and your buddy a few tries to get through would you think stock suspension and 33’s be fine or would you avoid it?
@JeepsLimited
@JeepsLimited Ай бұрын
@TheInstigator918 Thank you. I would definitely be cautious with that set up on that particular trail. That was the trail on onx called cliff mine drive. You still might be able to get to the over look are of that trail from a different access point tho. However even if you avoid the area all together there's still plenty of great stuff to see.

@@TheInstigator918 i would say your biggest limit is your tire size. That trail had some deep mud and some larger rocks. The mud blue were stuck in is definitely not somewhere you want to be by yourself or without a winch.

Around 17 min in yall should have winched through the muddy spot. This is NOT tread lightly. Try it 3-5 times then winch through. It’s not cool that you made it all torn up like that. Imagine someone wanting to take their stock 31” tire rig and now they can’t make it past your ruts. Otherwise great video so far

@j_mars_cars Thank you. A lot of people have commented on that muddy spot. Obviously it was extremely tourn up before we got there. I don't think it's fair that everyone is putting the blame on us given the mud hole was already there. We aren't not the ones that made it that deep.
