My Greyhounds raced there in the 80s. Thanks for the tour back in time.

My family worked there during the greyhound days. I remember running through the place as a kid. My brother and sister were dog handlers. Also remember when it caught on fire. It was big news

That’s dope! That must’ve been crazy seeing that place in its heyday.

It's awesome to see this place. Back in the 90s i went here for a lalapalooza. Saw bands like metallic and sound garden and there were a lot of other bands like rancid on a side stage. I was there selling fried foods and drinks. It was super hot and humid that day and on the way home the chevy suburban we were driving in blew the engine so there we were late at night stuck on a highway until a Massachusetts state trooper picked us up and drove us closer to home. They dumped us off at the Westfield mass exit at a Friendly's restaurant. It was an adventure i like to remember.

I was there for Lollapalooza in ‘96. Metallica and Soundgarden showed up to headline in helicopters behind the stage. Stage was at the corners of 1-2 of the track to the right of the grandstands facing out, near that generator shed. About 15,000 people on the infield.

Pownal hated that concert. Trailer park next to it complained 🙄

I was there as well. It was hot and we were lying on the asphalt. Great event. Watching the helicopters come around one of the mountains and seeing the bands exit was awesome.

great stuff! Attended UMASS from 78-82. A big racing fan from age 14 on. So wish I had gotten out to Gansett back then. Only tracks in New England I made it to back then were Foxboro in MA and Hinsdale in NH.

You didn't go in the basement!! Easily the scariest part of the place. I think it was decimated in that fire though. What's the best way for me to share my pics with you?
@j-mass Жыл бұрын
I know, I had a few people telling me that I missed the basement. I’ll have to check it out next time! You can hit me up on Instagram at jmassofficial, I always respond!

The mass amounts of shattered glass is because of a very bad fire back in September of 2020.
@megaaggron977810 ай бұрын
The glass is because of constant vandalism. The fire completely melted the back of the building, and caused the roof collapse to intensify
