In this video I explore a very large lead, silver, zinc mine that is now in very poor condition. Though this mine had miles of tunnel, today only a few thousand feet of workings remain. The remaining workings are flooded or behind major collapses.
Also shown in this video is a review of the Thrunite TC20. The light is used for some parts of the mine exploration and is discussed in depth at the end of the video.

We went into this one a few years ago. I remember being completely amazed when we walked into the big green room! There are a lot of really neat old mines in this area. Nabob and the Liberal King are both great ones to check out too

Such a shame that the mine has collapsed. The winze station would have been very impressive. Real archeology though. You have documented something that has almost disappeared. Part of important social history. All that ore made the modern world. Many thanks!

“Gly”: Hey, your back! I was starting to wonder about you since you haven’t posted a video in a while. Glad your alright. Big mine! You can certainly see by the geology it contained allot of Zinc. Nice review. In my opinion if it had a better switch and a telescopic flood light feature it would be a good compact flashlight. When I’m doing my filming it’s nice to quickly switch between flood and spot. Stay safe out there!

Hey, a few shots and pans as you walk up to the mine entrance, sets the mood for mine exploration. The devil's in those details, so please film everything over 50 years old. Very much enjoy watching, thanks for all of your efforts. Much obliged and clearly that was the green room for the movie star miners to get dressed in. Ha ha!

I wonder if that green paint was copper based, like is sometimes used on boats to prevent fouling, to prevent molds and stuff from growing on the walls. There was very little mold or mildew growing in there considering how wet it is.

You could easily make a cap for the switch using a small piece of pvc pipe with a section cut out and a hole drilled where the switch is, then you could sell them to thrunite.

Lot of lights on the market these days, this one seems pretty good, long life is a plus, heat not. Great video.

I think you're right that he green color in the room is not natural. It's used in larger mines (and underground workings in general) as a marker, or "code" for that specific area. That way, the workers wouldn't need to explain anything but color to tell others where to go. Light is also reflected better on brighter colors, hence they sprayed the whole room and not just a single point.

I think it might be copper based paint to help prevent growth of mold and mildew in that damp environment.

Hi! I'd like to know what camera you were using for this vid. I'm planning to film caves, considering the tc20 for it since it looked good in this vid. But you might have a far superior camera than I have.

Keng of the World I use a Sony Alpha a7III with Tokina 14mm F/1.8. It is a very good camera setup but the TC20 is decent too.

I've never seen green colours in a mine before, what mineral causes that? Wow, that's the weirdest room I've ever seen in a mine. Why would they bother to go to all that effort? Never seen a pneumatic gate on an ore shoot before either.

UK Abandoned Mine Explores viper sulfides will cause colorations like however that room is definitely not naturally like that.
