I worked in Newnan at the time of the filming of the movie Zombieland and our business 3d/4d ultasound business, is in the shot where Woody and Jessie are walking up the street and there are overturned cars and they pass the big clock well our building is the blue one in that shot. The producers came in, got papers signed, put large papers to cover the windows, we couldnt look out the windows, no lights on..etc...it was filmed on a early sunday morning.

When I was a little girl I was in a strings instrument class in elementary school. We played a small concert in that very mall. We played in the middle of the circle under that glass pavilion at the center of the mall. It was full of stores and people ❤

The store you thought was for eyeglasses was definitely a Bath & Body Works. Also, I wonder if the 50s diner was just a set built for the movie? It's weird that the window in the back of the room just goes to more retail space and clearly not a kitchen.

Hey Bankz, My husband and I love seeing your video's!! You really should do more! We also love how you you always quote scripture! That's another 10 pointer with us! I know it's very hard and scary for you to go into places where people have lost love for their home or were too overwhelmed when dealing with loss in some sort or fashion. Just wanted you to know!! God bless you always!

The room with the most water damage is a Macy that’s the first store that close before the mall close. The rest of the mall close in 2020 due to covid and was then used for filming. That random podium used to be a clock there but was removed

I worked at a Musicland when I was a teenager. I remember telling people that someday cassettes would be no longer available. Because we had so many on clearance. I remember them asking me then what will music be played on and I tried to describe a compact disk to them. they would laugh. My boss had let me in on the secret. But anyway a few years later there was the rise of the Compact Disk- aka CD

Musicland sold mainly music on CD and vinyl. Big in the 80's. They did sell a small amount of instrument paraphernalia like guitar strings, amp cords, guitar strap, etc.

Loved this explore! So sad re the shutting down of malls. I have always loved them but so many including my area are shutting down so now there is no reason to go to the ‘brick & mortar’. So sad as have so many wonderful memories of hours @ several malls in Grand Rapids, MI. A lot of my childhood. Used to take the buses there having to endure several transfers bf I was able to drive. Casual Corner was a fave of mine! Forgot bout it until this video! Thank you for sharing this explore. So fun they used it for a popular movie. I did cry during the ‘mall’ episode of Stranger Things as it was so retro and heartfelt. Wonder if that one restaurant with the checkered floor was called ‘Checkers’, a known brand in the US.
