The thing about this place is that to some of us this isn't just a spooky ghost attraction fad. It's a lot different when you used to actually go there and you know it from childhood. Kind of sad to see that the exact same path you and your pals once ran down is now overgrown and dead quiet
@aidbraidalice5002 жыл бұрын

Thank you for doing this one!! I went to this park every year since I was just a kid (39 now) and later would bring my kids. where you first started out the second track you were on, that's where the antique cars were. They were so fun! The flume was my favorite ride. There was a lot more rides as well that are now either dismantled or gone, like bumper cars, plane ride, cages, ferris wheel, the train, laser tag, zip lines, row boats, mini golf, bumper boats and so many little restaurants and shops. This closed in 2020 or to be more specific, 2019 was it's last running season, it closed in early fall every year. A private school bought the property but the sale fell through and I believe it's now back in the hands of the Municipality. Rumor was it was just getting too costly to upkeep and pay staff and it wasn't making enough money to meet inflation, however I can't help but think Covid had something to do with it because this park had been open for years, and the announcement it had been sold was made in 2020. I can't believe how run down it is after just two years. It was so well kept and clean and such ashame the vandalism. We did go to try to explore and I felt so on edge didn't go too far. It was so eerie because everytime I went, there were happy kids and people everywhere, music playing, cotton candy and candy apples, musicians, magic tricks etc. I wish someone would buy it and restore it although it looks like at this point it would need an over haul. So sad, it was our summer staple. Thanks for covering this one. Flume was the funnest ride of all and cooled you off on a hot summer day. A small park compared to six flags or Canada's wonderland, but for a small rural area considered large. I miss it 😔 congratulations on your honeymoon🤗

This was so heartbreaking to watch this. Each area you filmed, we pictured our excited kids running to that ride,to the ice cream, to everything. This video has an eerie feel of what once was. All the excitement, the fun energy that it had.... all gone. They sold the place to put in some school... I see it hasn't even started !

I used to work there. We called the log ride the Flume. I loved working up in tower you could see the whole park from up there. This closure had nothing to do with Covid. Sadly the place was just given up on. The plan was to sell to a private school and convert it. That deal fell through. Hard to say what will become of it :(.

Thanks for filming. My grandparents took me here as a kid, they’re gone now so it’s really an emotional experience to watch this. Used to go there on school trips, with friends and family too! This place was bumpin, so weird to see it like a ghost town. My favourite was the flume ride! So nice in the summer! I remember learning to drive on the antique car route too that you think was another rail way concept. I’m going to show this to my family later. Thanks again.

That place used to be beautiful man it’s really a shame to see what’s become of it. The tracks that went into the weird red barn thingy had old vintage cars like model Ts kind of, you could drive them along the track which as a kid was the coolest thing ever because they were basically full sized cars. Anyways cheers cool video man.

Sadly this may be one of the last recordings where most of the buildings and things were still present and intact. Another video shows most of it has been taken down, demolished and moved. Still remember working there in the summer. Thankfully the train was saved and is now owned by Trueman Farms in Aulac, NB.
@ghoull_bboy2 жыл бұрын
I used to come here every summer for about four years, and i remember the flume ride always having the biggest lines and always waiting to go on again and again. My favourite ride was the cages where you spun yourself around and upside down. There was a little train that went around the park so you wouldn’t have to walk and that was also fun, you’d have to wait at the little stations and then there were tons of little things littered along the track like a teddy bear tea party. i have so many memories of running from one ride to the next and getting ice cream along the way, i’m so sad it had to close

My family would always go to this park since the time it opened, prettywell. It was always a big summer treat. It was packed at all hours. Hot summer sun beating down. Bumper cars, flume ride, cool arcade, laser shows. They had a u-fish as well for rainbow trout in a big pond, well stocked. Motorized bumper boats. Paddle boats. Mini golf. Actors (from Long John Silver and onwards) totally committed to their roles interacting with youngsters. The old wooden rollercoaster. Ah, the '90s. Thanks for the share.

I went the year before it closed, it was a great place and packed with people, obviously it was just mismanaged by people who had no idea what they were doing. The government here are so anti family fun, especially the local government, there’s not even a decent kids playground in the area

This is awesome to watch. I live about an hour from the old park and for all my life I spent summers going to the Upper Clements Park. Each year in June, the classes in Jr and Sr High School would attend the park for the last day of the school year. I have so many fond memories here and haven't seen the place since it was thriving. There was so much more there, it's un believable to see it like it is. It only closed five years ago, but you were there when it had only been closed for three. Truly remarkable although it's unfortunate what happened to the future of the land.

The Upper Clements Amusement Park must be a fun place to be for family and friends to enjoy during the weekend. It must had been filled with people, especially children screaming out at the top of their lungs while going up and down the rollercoasters and water rides. Probably, the Amusement Park Admin employed quite a number of people to run the Amusement Park. Just too bad, like other businesses that had closed down due to covid, the Amusement Park might had fallen the same fate. Sadly, people are left unemployed. There was no sign in the premises that the Park was given a second chance. There was nothing to indicate that it's undergoing some sort of major repair or restoration works in the vicinity. High probability it would be totally abandoned before the land is bought by other property developer to be destroyed eventually. Thanks Riddim Ryder.

Many major rides needed upkeep and maintenance that the park wasn't generating enough income to cover. Things were often shut down and the whole park hadn't been active as a whole for quite some time. In 2019 they sold the site for the construction of a private school, but they also seem to have run out of funds before they started construction, and it has been in a state of limbo since then.

It's not a six flags, it's a small province in Atlantic Canada. There was a huge amount of bustle and charm and the premises were very large (the video doesn't cover it all by any stretch). It was built by the province as a place for kids and families to go. Nova Scotia is a very economically challenged province, especially at this time, but it was an amazing place to go as a kid. The park closing HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH COVID 19, it closed long before the pandemic. Just so you know the yellow paint on the stairs of the Sissiboo Sizzler aka The Flume was to do with pointing out critical points of them to keep from tripping. The park closed in 2016 at the end of the season and never reopened. The yellow stuff had nothing to do with Covid. The assholes who trashed the park had absolutely no respect for anything. It’s a shame you never got to see the park in its glory so you could have said what things were knowing what they ACTUALLY were not a guess. I spent almost every day there in the first several years, I loved it there. I grew up 7 minutes from the park. My first job was here. The track with the metal rail in the centre was the Antique Car ride. The building that had all the fancy boards in it were from the merry go round. The big buildings out by the road and all the other buildings are gone. The Stone house which was the Precesky house burned to the ground 3-4 days ago, I believe it was deliberately burned.
