Wow, that house is lovely! Wonder if it can be salvaged? Really love how big and open the family room is, and that sun room omg! Interesting amount of stuff left behind too...thanks for the great video, RR!

You can clearly see that the basement had been flooded, you can see the water line on the walls. It would have been a never ending nightmare to keep all the windows in the house clean. Otherwise it was a nice place at one time. Thank you RR for another most enjoyable adventure

Yes...definitely a flood happened. Glad you enjoyed it.

Hi Ridder. Thanks for another awesome abandoned house tour here, but I saw this same house from another youtuber not so long ago. You can tell that this house once belong to a wealthy person at one. What a shame to see it now. Still has a few items left that could be saved. Thanks again.

Awesome video! The house pictured in the intro at 0:59 was torn down this year with much protest from the community. The Karen's won and got it demolished. Many people including myself were sad to see it go. for the last 10 years or so I usually drove the 1+ hour drive from Windsor once or twice a year to take pictures. There was always and eerie/ spookie sense when I was there like there was a presence/spirit watching me. Every year the one side of the house was closer and closer to collapsing and the rear of the house completely collapsed few years before it was demolished. The original part of the house was built in the 1880's, the right side of the house was added in the 1940's and the back part of the house was built in the late 70's. What's crazy is the newest part was the first to collapse and the oldest part of the house was still standing strong and sturdy. The house used to be fully bricked all the way around but the brick was falling down so it was removed in the early 2000's for safety reasons. The house was abandoned in approximately 1987. This house was known as the most photographed house in Canada. The house you visited here looked like it could be fixed up with some hard work. Such a waste of a nice home. I looks like it was a beautiful home at some point.

Thanks for watching! Yes, the Guyitt house was a beautiful place. I actually met the owner several years back. He wanted it to stay.

@@RiddimRyder That's awesome. I never got the chance to meet the owner, i believe he was the grandson of the original owners, right? I did meet the neighbor that watched it like a hawk and would come racing up if people got too close. haha He is the one that gave me the history on the house. Great videos, i enjoy your content!

@@timmorin69 When I met him he was checking his rainfall gauge. Told me he didn't want to tear it down as the house would stop a pig farm from being built close by. I don't know all the logistics, but I guess it couldnt be too close to other dwellings no matter what condition. Pigs are stinky!!!

Your video was able to lead me to finding this property after quite a bit of searching. While I did not find much information on the occupants, it seems the owner of this home may have actually been a lottery winner a few years back. His win was not huge but still in the 6 figure range. Yes, this home is located next to another house that was very popular amongst explorers 3-4 years back.

Just a nice place, apparently they weren’t big on carpet cleaning- whether it’s more of its former residents or being abandoned for awhile. So much left behind, either way it’s been neglected for awhile for natures critters to call it home!
@RiddimRyder10 күн бұрын
Yes, it is in rough shape. I feel the ceiling will come down soon if they don't demolish it before then!
@billstill179410 күн бұрын
Those ornate chairs were very cool and appear to be expensive pieces but they certainly need a good lint-rolling and fabric cleaning/deodorizing! ...The house looks familiar - I think another explorer was also there - looks set up in places... Is that beautiful Tiffany shade on the ceiling light real or repro? ...The place does appear ready to collapse on itself. That black mold in the basement looks extremely toxic - maybe you should have worn a mask down there...

I should have worn a mask but was quick

There is a cycle, you get in a place and see omg they covered the hardwood floors and they are beautiful! You uncovered them, you renovate it, then if a few years you realize it is too cold and dusty, and then you recarpet it.

It really was a shame that they let the basement get so bad. But i suspect it was due to old age & lack of mobility. Thanks for watching!
