One thing I never realised (until it happened) was you can actually see the top of Galactica's lift hill from the roof of the towers. Very far away and movement on the tracks helps you spot it, but yeah it's visible. :)

Been looking forward to this vlog! I think Alton Towers is missing a trick here, The Older market, The whole family could make a day of it. Grandparents off for the day in the Towers and gardens instead of standing holding bags and coats at the excit of a ride! Maybe a none rider ticket at £20.00 For myself I would have one day on the rides one day exploring the Towers. So thank you for another treet, I really feel its time for you both to join the Nation Trust, there are 100s of new vlogs there, and we would watch everyone!

Funny story about Hex. My mum and I were at Alton Towers years ago. I was about 11 years old; my mum wasn’t one for the big rides but was also not a stickler for the rules either. We explored the castle ruins and happened upon the exit for the ride Hex. Well my mums idea was to jump onto the ride and skip the lines. We did just that. We didn’t get any backstory for the ride so had no idea what it was about. The ride started and anyone who knows Hex, knows it tricks your mind into thinking you’re upside down, spinning round and all sorts. My mum was screaming and was saying “I’m gonna fall out, I’m gonna fall out” she was genuinely frightened. The people next to us must have found it hilarious. She closed her eyes and squeezed my hand so tight, it hurt. When the ride finished, she was as white as a ghost and honestly aged about 10 years. That’ll teach her for breaking the rules haha. I loved it though. From then on, Hex has been one of my favourites at the park. Fantastic memories. Haven’t been back in about 8 years, but watching this makes me really wanna go back for nostalgic reasons and take my own daughter.

I did see you on the day you made this vid, I called out to you as you stood next to The Smiler. We visited the ruins again Tuesday (8th) and the door behind you at 10:30 was open! This door led to some sections of the scare maze and some of the behind the scenes areas. We were able to navigate through the maze using the phone torch, it was nice to see the maze without the actors inside and the audio on.

I went to Alton Towers of the first time last week and the first thing that struck me was how beautiful the towers were, having not gotten close to it I was sure it was going to be equally beautiful inside. Then I got up close and realised it was an empty shell, went on all the rides and enjoyed myself afterwards, but to be honest, from the fact that it’s quite depressing that the Abbey fell into disrepair.
