That's true of many poisonous frogs, but Do Not Assume This for poison dart frogs in particular; it might not kill you, but their skin poison IS potent enough to hurt you on contact (and, as a general rule with any such danger, you never know if you're on the wrong end of the bell curve with an unusually extreme reaction until you have one, which might be the last fact you ever learn). Also, even the "pet" ones can retain their toxins for years, so make VERY sure it's captive-bred. (also, "factoid" can mean either 'fact' or 'pseudofact', so you may have been being clever with your wording, but it's dangerous either way)

@@Koscacio Poison means that he'd probably die if he ate him or ingested the frog's secretion (they cover themselves with it as it oozes out from their pores). The frog in itself is not poisonous but their diet contains a lot of poison and they secrete it through the skin.

Correct me if I am wrong, but most species of poison dart frogs can’t poison you (or are not poisonous enough) if you touch them. I would still not recommend it and I would wash my hands if you did. If it was a captive raised frog, then you can touch them since they gain their poison through things they eat (though like all amphibians, you should minimize touching them because our oils can be harmful to them). Also, if it is a golden poison dart frog, then he would probably be seriously poisoned.
