As a pest control specialist, Mice really don't like cheese. That's a stereotype created by cartoons. They'll eat it if cheese is there and they're hungry. However, it's not their first choice. The other variable being that was a pet/domesticated mouse and not a wild mouse. You should have simply used peanut butter.

13:27 My theory as to why the vacuum chamber didn't work is that, as Mark explained, when the vacuum chamber removed the air the boiling point of the beans was lowered to less than room temperature which made it boil without gaining heat. The reason the beans got colder is that when a liquid boils it releases steam which takes some heat with it. Therefore, while the vacuum chamber made it look like the beans were being cooked, they were actually being cooled by being boiled.

In Korea, your popcorn popping method is something done quite frequently. There's also a round disc version of it called "ppong ti gi" which is also an onomatopoeia for how it's formed. The ppong is the sound of the pop of the heating chamber opening and letting the popcorn product pop and expand!
