This church is beautiful. It’s sad to see it rotting away. I wish I had the money to restore places like this and use them as homeless shelters or something to help the community

Always sad to see an abandoned church. This one is beautiful despite the decay. The decor is stunning. Can only imagine what it was like in its prime. I wouldn't go up those sketchy tower stairs either. Bad. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I'm not a religious person, but I hate seeing churches like this. I think all churches should be protected buildings. The sad thing is, the decline of cities like this definitely could have been avoided.

👍 Looks like almost everything salvageable has been removed, sold or repurposed. Those big wooden bourdon organ pipes were left for some reason and were a very small part of a humongous organ works. Also, the altars(s) have been humbly removed. Now, all that is left is a wonderful reminder of what was once a beautiful and active house of worship.

Being a contractor, those churches back in the day were so overly built you probably would’ve never had any problem with those staircases in you missed out on the best feature of the church superstructure that holds that roof up you have been amazed at what you would’ve saw

The items your called "heat ducts" are wind lines carried wind from the pipe organ's blowers (likely located in the basement) into the organ mechanisms. At that gallery left rear are 12 large wooden organ pipes (these would be some of the largest within the instrument). Interestingly, these would generate pitch if placed upon wind, once more. These are extremely heavy and difficult to move, the reason they remain in place.

The sound of the organ in this church must have been fantastic, those angels up there was too high for those who repurposed this church to get at, the alter has been torn out must have been a beautiful church. I was in boarding school in Africa and my class teacher was a nun from Canada her name was Sister Paul this church suddenly reminded me of her, I wonder if she was from that diocese. The mound is an alter, Thank you another great video.

You wouldn’t go up or down “for safety” but in fact the most dangerous place was in the open center of the church. All these old plaster ceilings are failing and pieces can fall at any time without notice.

That big tall box on the wall with the sudders is called the chest that held the pipes for the organ I think that is it if not the other thing you showed that has the holes in there those are the bass pipes can't believe there still there and those long boxes on the floor are the junction blocks for all the wires if all that's there where's the pipe organ why did they leave the connectors and the bass pipes and the chest maybe they used what they needed for another setup but some them pipes are worth money that church was beautiful at one time ceilings and pillers and that big arched window you don't see that much anymore that must been an old church wow...

The architecture is great and I love those ceilings. The sanctuary is where the altar is and the place where people sit is just the "pews". It's amazing that the outside and foundation of the structure look really solid but the inside has fallen apart.
