Clouds, rain and cooler weather are the main reason why Salalah in Oman is so popular. Every single year, the Khareef season brings people for all the Gulf countries who wants to escape the heat. Salalah if for sure a unique destination, much different than the rest of Oman and worth a trip!

We began by visiting two locations NOT on the itinerary which were very nice additions. Starting our day with Omani Coffee in a castle overlooking the town of Salalah and the visit of a 150 years old traditional house turned into a guest house which we highly suggest you consider staying in if you visit the region!

From there we went to Wadi Darbat, the most popular tourist attraction in Salalah and had lunch near by at the Salalah Adventure Food Court. My blue burger was delicious!
Driving through the clouds we first stopped at the Tawi Atair Sinkhole, which is the deepest sinkhole in the Middle East before driving over the clouds on top of Salalah highest mountain. I don't think I have to explain how beautiful the view was.
And to end out tour of Salalah, our guide Naseeb drove us to see the largest baobab tree in the region and to see Anti Gravity Point which was quite an optical illusion!
Just when we though our day and trip in Oman was done, we were invited by Hawana Salalah to stay our last night at their vacation resort and let me tell you, this place is literally it's own town! From the different restaurants, coffee shops, grocery store, marina, tree hotels and more, once you arrive, there is no need to ever leave.

Shout out to Naseeb, you're awesome. Not sure how you spotted that bird in those conditions, you might literally have eagle eyes. I'm not sure how many people can say they've walked above the clouds but that view was awesome. It's like a sea of cotton or cotton candy, magnificent... Had no idea a place so cool (literally) exists in Oman.

I have recently went to Salalah in late December (outside Khareef season) and although some of the waterfalls weren't active, it was still a great time to go and visit the surrounding areas of Salalah and even the beaches were quite nice in Salalah itself especially Al Haffa and Ad Dahariz beaches
