I like longer videos. Wine is a hobby and there is no reason to be as efficient as possible with my hobbies. I like to watch a video while I take a tea break, or when I have a glass of wine after work, so for me there is no reason to keep those videos under 10 minutes or whatever.

It was love at first taste. Now, I have an absolute obsession with CDP regardless of the maker. I hope to go to the region one day and taste some of the best ones available.

Glad to see at least one producer still using traditional methods to make their wine. Wine is becoming homogeneous with every one wanting to make more money to please everyday wine drinkers. I long for the days when wine from different regions all tasted unique.

I’ll let another wine geek here answer that one… Let’s just say there’s a very interesting story with CdP and UFOs
@BigBobDookie2 жыл бұрын
Yep. It's illegal in Chateauneuf Du Pape to land a UFO in a vineyard. Le Cigare Volant.
@oltch.2 жыл бұрын
@@drmatthewhorkey yeah so i looked into to it. Big ufo guy. And most main strean news articles say it sgarted in the 50s as a "tourism attracter" but it seems actually thats lazy journalism, what happened was a railway worker had an encounter on the tracks where a flying cigar came down over town, and he told the whole town and the mayor made the law. When i was in high school i saw a flying cigar shaped ufo flying just ~ 100 feet off the ground

Really cool video! I am planning a visit to CdP this summer. I am thinking of visiting Beaucastel (I'll try anyways) and I might go for Beaurenard (they also use all 13 grapes in their CdP) because they are a little bit more budget-friendly and still are well-rated. Do you have any thoughts on their wines?

My favourite wine region. Unfortunately the prices has got way too much up lately. I used to buy A LOT at very good prices. Every year we drove to southern france where my famaly had a house. Close to Chateauneuf du pape. I fiiled up the car every time. With Pegau. Clos des papes. Janasse. Vieux telegrafh and so on. Extremely hight quality and low prices. Those were the days
@drmatthewhorkey2 жыл бұрын
Where was your house??? The prices have gotten aggressive but there are producers, like Bois de Boursan in the video, that still have nice prices.
@nikolajkrarup87502 жыл бұрын
@@drmatthewhorkey It was up in the mountains. A small village called Cornus. About 70 kilometers north of chateauneuf du pape. Yes true. You can still find high quality wines at affotdable prices from Chateaunruf du pape. Not all has wines has rised so much. But it was much easier some years back.
