For a growing town like Wisbech, it's riddiculous no rail station exists anymore, considering much of the track bed does still exist. They need to reinstate it, asap. Good reporting and thank you for keeping the subject alive.

Myself, together with my friend Jerry Alderson, rode on the last train to Wisbech back in 2001 - a Hertfordshire Railtours charter, whose name I have forgotten. As my Mum lives in March, the reopening of the railway to Wisbech has been a subject dear to my heart. Hopefully, I will be giving a presentation on options for this line at the Railfuture East Anglian Branch AGM, to be held at the Friends Meeting House in Bury St. Edmunds on the last Saturday in February 2025.

The northern end of March train storage area ( goods yard ? ) is now a top security Cat A prison ( HMP Whitemoor ) 😝.... the line to Spalding is totally demolished and various station houses and signal boxes are now private residences .... There would be no possibility of reopening this line ( ? ) .................... DAVE™🛑

Here's to hoping the part to Wisbech is reinstated in some way, even if as a heritage line. Agreed there is no chance of the Spalding line being put back now 😊💙🚂

The Bramley Line is a preservation group set up for this particular route but I don't think there is a general group that invests. It would be a lovely idea if there was ☺️🚂💙
