I thought for sure that would get more of a reaction from people. Ha ha ha! We really enjoyed this video, your picture of the Church and cross was definitely worth the wait for timing. We're brand new to dark sky photography and never heard or thought of light painting before, great information to dig deeper into on our end.

I would love to learn how to do some night photography. It would be great to learn it, especially in some of the parks in the western US that are designated as Dark Sky Parks. I loved that shot of the Milky Way! Have a great weekend.

Yes, we were actually just outside of a designated dark sky park on this adventure. We viewed the stars in Arches National Park years ago and it was an amazing experience!

Being able to spend time in an international dark sky park is such a privilege. You just don't know what's up in the sky until you escape all that light pollution. 😮 You were probably under pretty dark skies on your last trip, too, when you captured the Northern Lights. Those were some spectacular shots!!! 🌌To be continued on the check engine light. But yes, we sure were happy to make it home. Thanks so much for your kind words and continued support. CELs can come on for the most minimal things like fuel system pressures being off (purge valve or gas cap sealing issues). I carry a code scanner (I purchased a while back for doing my own diagnostics) and if a code pops up, I can scan it, google the code and the vehicle, and see what the consensus is on common issues. Then, I decide whether it's an immediate worry or something that can wait. Our last semi-breakdown happened this last year with the Jeep. Radiator started leaking on the trip. Even though the radiator was only 5 years old, it's an older Jeep from the mid 80s, so finding a replacement radiator can be a wait. Luckily, since it was an all metal unit, I found an old-school radiator shop that repaired it. Turned out to be a damaged cooling fin (probably from a small rock thrown up while we were on the road). Wife stayed at camp while I drove to the shop and got my hands dirty helping them pull and reinstall it. I always have a basic tool kit in the back, and it paid off. We were able to enjoy the rest of the trip (and every one since) without issues. Glad to see you made it out okay!

A code scanner is a good idea. We've had that happen with the gas cap not being tight enough before. LOL Dennis does carry around some basic tools but yes, we'll continue to add some as we run into new issues. Wow, it sounds like you have some skills when it comes to car repair. We'll have to keep your number on speed dial. 😁 Glad you were able to get your Jeep repaired without having issues!

Great video! Next weekend our video in Hawaii with us trying to film the night sky up at Mana Kea but we wish we would have seen this before going. We didn't have time to research much before going but we did the same quickly watch you tube settings but it was for our phones we haven't made the final decision on a camera yet. Tried looking through your info to see what camera you are using? What are you using? The picture of the Milky way behind the church was gorgeous! Excellent photo you need to print that large and put it up! Thx for the video! And yes I have been working hard this last couple years not letting fears and anxiety hold me back!

Sadly it is not possible to add pictures to KZbin comments. I have tried some night photography also. Of course I have done it with my mobile phone, but it is amazing what mobile phones can do nowadays. For example I did a 2h star trail picture. Anyway a really good idea to get help from the wifey. I will try to sell this idea to my wife also - we'll see 🤣 Anyway good to see that you are getting better with video making with every video. Your storytelling has been really good all the time and this was the thing that made me follow you guys.

Yes, mobile phones are getting better and better. Astrophotography is tricky because the stars are always moving across the sky making it difficult to let in enough light to get a great shot. That's why Dennis has started using a star tracker. Star trail pics can also be really cool, though. Thanks for the compliment about video marking. I'm not sure what that is exactly but it's good to know we're getting better at it! 🤣🤣 So much to learn growing a KZbin channel and we're definitely trying to perfect our technique. We're open to suggestions! ❤️

@@TakeATripTogether Although mobile phones are getting better and better at taking pictures, they seem to be getting worse at autocorrect 🤣 I wanted to write "video making" not "marking"🤯 I'd rather not give recommendations, because it seems to me that you have chosen a slightly different path than the usual KZbinrs and it will be very interesting to see where this path takes you... I hope you get your car fixed soon and we can watch a new vlog episode soon!
