Duh! How could this ever have been a big mystery?? Right next to the ocean, but they can't figure out where the water in it goes. Hmm...such a tough puzzle to solve. Put some bright dye into it and then watch the dye come back out into the ocean. Solved.

The water level of the water in the hole is the same level as the ocean, it clearly drains back into the ocean.

Nice my guess was right. 🏆 But what about it was a blow hole but the cave progressively eroded the top away till it collapsed into what it is now? And because the flow reversed with the larger opening now on top. It drains and continues to erode the top opening from countless waves crashing into it rather than the blow hole it originally was..

Maybe the hole Leeds to the center of the earth and is slowly emptying the pacific, or…. The hole literally just leads back out to the ocean and isn’t really that deep. That was so annoyingly stupid! Anyone could have assumed that the hole right next to the ocean likely drains back into the ocean.
