I remember my parents saing "go" "explore". It was 1974. Nights on that beach in a pup tent. Going out to pull up crab pots and catch a ling cod, then back into the bay for a couple more nights. San juan islands and Zion national park my 2 favorite places on earth.

Glad you made it. I was getting ready to call the coast guard. I love Sucia. Used to live in Blaine and we sailed down there a lot. If we timed it right we could ride the tides and the currents all the way there and back. It was only 20 miles. There seem to be a lot more people now then in the 1990s. Lots of park improvements. I remember one long pier of highly questionable integrity and fairly over grown trails. My girlfriend classified about 50 different kinds of ferns and it had hands down the biggest -Slugs- sorry gastropod mollusc I've ever seen. I mean some of these things were monstrous 10 or 12 inches long. Biology major so she was all over it (wonder what ever happened to her). Any way it's a fascinating place and glad you enjoy it.

Awesome Sucia Island episode. I enjoyed climbing on the cliffs and large beach rocks. Took a nasty spill once. How I wasn't injured is a miracle. Upon reflection I reminded myself that help is miles and miles away. So I reduced the thrill seeking for injury prevention. Took the trail down for ex:. Great job freedom. Glad your back.

I really enjoyed this video because…I have watched many of your videos and heard you talk about boating in the Pacific Northwest/Puget Sound area in glowing terms but never experienced personally. My wife and I just returned from 13 days there, most spent in Bellingham where our youngest moved just before COVID hit, so this was our first visit to your area. Now I understand all your comments and can understand why you say them. It is gorgeous there. We took a whale watching trip and sailed right by Sucia Island, the west side going north and the eastern side going back south, I photographed that same big Sea Lion out on the rocks. The views of Mt. Baker were breathtaking from the sea. We also spent an afternoon at the Ballard Locks and sightseeing around Lakes Union and Washington. I’m now looking forward to your new videos even more since I have a better understanding of what you mean when you talk about the boating there. Thank you very much and keep it up.
