I have lived in Southern California my whole life and I didn’t even know half of these facts of San Diego. Very informative and very well narrated.

I found this video after visiting Old Town San Diego a couple of months ago and loved it so much that I wanted to learn more. Thanks for this content! I know San Diego has soooo much to offer, but during our two days there we stayed exclusively in the Point Loma area, visiting Cabrillo National Monument and Old Town. We loved it so much that we didnt get time to see the rest of the city. I will certainly have to return some day.

Hi Jeremy, and thank you for the kind words! Old Town San Diego is one of my favorite places in the entire world. You stayed in a great area to get a start on the San Diego experience, and you are right.. there is a lot more! I would suggest searching youtube for some history about the Gaslamp district and the history of Balboa Park. Those are a couple famous locations that have a ton of San Diego history. Thanks for stopping by!

The building depicted from 4:24 to 4:39 is actually the Junipero Serra Museum, built between 1928 and 1929, it is sometimes mistaken for the Mission. On the slope below the JSM is the site of the first Presidio built in the region, there's now a concrete wall that marks the original location, but all structures from that time are gone, although there are still some floor tiles from the original Chapel built there.

Funny that James Robinson of the Robinson Rose house and Yankee Jim Robinson, who ended up at the end of a rope and supposedly haunts the Whaley House, were in San Diego at the same time.
