I must say living in Chandler In the late 70s early 80s I was apprehensive going into the Superstitions for fear of running into some rouge persons that wouldn’t think twice of plugging you with lead.. heard some stories about that taking place at that time.. I live very close to the Carney mine. The last time I was there was about 2010. The guano was very intense at the rear of the mine. The smell of ammonia was over powering. I didn't have an oxygen monitor but I didn't need one I smelled the ammonia turned around and left. I hear bat guano is a sought after fertilizer. A person who has the proper breathing apparatus could probably make some money "mining" the guano.
