I cannot believe the success that this first video has had! You have all been extremely supportive and I cannot thank you enough for helping me grow this channel. My main goal is to use data and statistics to inform people on topics such as gambling, finance, and probability so that they are able to make higher quality decisions. I love to see such a large amount of people interested in both probability and programming, and I think that these are two areas that are initially very confusing to people, but are much simpler as you begin to break them down and learn them piece by piece. I also believe that these skills are invaluable, as you can apply them in nearly all aspects of your life. It is because of this that I ended up making a free Introduction to Programming course in Python, which contains about 2 hours of material to leave you with a basic understanding of the fundamentals of coding. You can check it out for yourself here: minding-the-data.teachable.com Also, I have creating a reading list of some of my favorite books centered around gambling, probability, statistics, and the stock market and would highly recommend these books if you have any interest in any of these subjects! Feel free to check the list out here: mindingthedata.com/reading-list/ Thanks again for supporting the channel and I can't wait to share the future videos I have in store! **UPDATE** It looks like Roobet has changed their code even further and now there seems to be a 1 in 20 chance of the same crashing instantly compared to the 1 in 33 chance at the time of this video.

Great video! Very surprised to see people using the martingale system. I actually used to perform the martingale system in modded games that had casinos for virtual money and tweaked it to where I would start with a very low initial bet for a small return. However, I would 3x every 3rd to multiply the initial return for the prolonged wait. I wish the people participating in these gambles would instead invest in shares of well-known company and held it rather than gamble for a short cut.

I dont comment under videos, but this is one of the videos i have to. The way you explained it is the best I have seen so far. Probably could have shown how many times (from the previous games) there were crashes under 2x, or a similar graph of Crashes under 2x / Time. I have also experimented with various martingale variations which give you a upper hand in the short term, however long term everything falls apart. I cannot stress hard enough the fact that the house will always win, one way or another. If you ever decide to put money in gambling, consider that money lost. If you do so, just play for the fun of it, and if you cant, dont play at all.

I just got into the martingale strat and Roobet today. So glad I saw this video. I first put in $100, lost it all. Put $500 in, not only got the $100 I lost back, but made another $200ish and my balance is now $804. I was planning to keep doing this because I thought I could just keep winning, but this video has showed me that that’s impossible. Tomorrow morning, I’m going to take almost all of my money pit. I’ll leave like $50-$100 in just to have some fun. So glad I figured this out before I lost it all. Came close to losing it all today too, was betting $1.50 and my bet got up to $384....I won but I pulled out early at like 1.75x. It went past my auto of 2.15x but I was so scared to lose, I would’ve only had $35 left. Thanks so much for teaching me

Really an amazing analysis and video. So basically the answer is you can play and make some money but stop when you make it because if you play more you are going to lose at some point. I mean it is fair enough, all casino games work like that. All i can say tho is that with this game you have a higher chance to win if you don't aim for high multipliers and you can bet very very low.

This video is so well done it upset me lol. It's very clear and concise and boils down some complex topics into easily digestible information. The problem is that it is so good it makes me feel insecure. I like to think I'm a pretty smart guy when it comes to an average person, or at least whatever I believe to be an average person, and then I watch something like this and feel totally out of my depth. It's not just that you're skilled with math, to the point where what you're showing really strained my brain to keep up. It is that you know when and where to use it. The fact that you knew what kind of formula to choose to get what you wanted. It's even more than that though. There's a resourcefulness to it all. The fact that you wanted to examine this in a way that clearly showed your audience the point you were trying to get across, which was that these games don't make you money, meant that you had to find something definitive. How to do it? Show the raw value per play. Then you managed to get from point A of what you wanted to achieve and show to point B of successfully showing it, which took a lot of mental leg work. You had to know people post the code for these games, find it, know how to read it, and know how to manipulate it. Then you had to be skilled enough with the math to evaluate the data the way you needed. It's not just a raw knowledge thing. There's a practicality and an application to it. There's a lot of people that might know the "how" to things without also knowing the "when", "where", and "why" of those topics. Adding on to those skills, you're a talented storyteller. You took the time to organize the video's thoughts. You introduced it with this documentary like flair setting up the culture of this game. It had me hooked and as I've described I'm not comfortable with this level of math and don't know the first thing about code, yet I couldn't stop watching. I'm still fairly young, but watching something this good makes me feel like I've wasted too much time and/or potential. All of this is a weird pity-party way of saying you got a great head on your shoulders, skills-wise. If you're ever feeling in doubt about yourself, I couldn't begin to code, or calculate proper statistics, or craft a video as well as you've just done. Good luck with your channel.
@mindingthedata42184 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for all of your comments! This has to be the nicest and most organized review of my video that I've received so far. I am super glad to hear that you were intrigued by the video even when you did not fully understand the code that I was going over. My goal was to explain this in a way that was simple enough for people to follow along without being thrown off by the technicalities, but also in-depth enough for them to fully understand the math/code if they wanted to do so. In response to your comment of feeling like you've wasted a lot of your time / potential, I think that that's a very similar feeling that I've had and I'm sure that many others have experienced as well. That was honestly one of the main motivations behind this video / channel. I saw a lot of other people creating some super cool content and wanted to try it out for myself and lucky enough for me, KZbin helped me find an audience of people that are interested in it! I think that working on something that you're interested in and sharing with others to get feedback/comments is a great way to stay motivated in an area you're passionate about. Motivation is such a hard thing to maintain consistently and I struggled with it a lot while creating this video. I would work on it on and off and any progress that was made would slowly keep me going. It took me a long time to finally get the functions working in order to collect all of the data and it took me even longer to figure out the math and condense it into a function that lined up with the results. Creating the actual video was by far the most taxing part of the whole project but you're able to see the progression as you go along and it was a great feeling to finally finish a project rather than giving up at a difficult point. By the effort and detailedness that you put into your comment, you seem like you have a drive to learn and create. I think you should spend some time thinking/searching for a project that you've always wanted to complete but have never found the time or motivation. It's okay if the progress you make is slow, just as long as you get there in the end. That feeling of completing something that you didn't have total confidence in at the beginning is incredible and I think it should motivate you to move even quicker on the next one. Being stuck on a specific part can get extremely frustrating but getting past these obstacles is the most difficult part. Stick with it and remember that each time you fail, you learn and gain an even better understanding of whatever it is that you're working on. If you end up finding an idea for this project, I'd love to hear about it as well as the progress that you're making. If there's any way I could help whether that be coming up with an idea or recommending sources to learn from, please feel free to reach out! Thank you again for your comment :)

I would understand the lure of these games if anyone looked like they were having fun on average, but not only are you guaranteed to lose, the cost is not even worth the fun you can expect to get. Not that it matters regarding “fairness” in casino terms, but someone who bets the minimum amount of Bitcoin could realistically benefit from the ridiculously high multipliers depending on what the minimum bet is for the site.

This is coming from me as a programmer that's worked in the gambling industry for, well, notable names for a couple years. These games aren't setup to make the users money, it's a business, they bring in psychologists and mathmaticians to bend the law as far as it will possibly go, when I was 16 I worked freelance at a company in the same genre that have now been bought out by one of the largest companies in the world. I have my own vices like any other person but gambling will never be one for me, I don't judge people that fall into these things, especially if they're packaged up and stylised in this fashion, we all need to get by in this world with some form of passtime. But they are legal criminals, I liked the way you broke it down into lehmans terms, for your first video this is incredible man, gave you a sub and hopefully it inspires you to break down more of these things man. Also shoutout to YT for the good reccommend.

Also, it would be very interesting with a 7 seater BlackJack, what are the odds per game knowing ONLY the cards being dealt for each game and probability of next card on shoe what it will be based on either sitting on the far left (last player) or sitting on the far right (1st player). You definitely have a future job with casinos or gaming manufactures if you put your mind to it.

Interesting, it appears that just as a regular casino, the odds are slightly outside of your favor for all multipliers, meaning that even if you had a bot programmed to target and exit at any given multiplier, in the long run you'd come out negative. For example for a target multiplier of 2 where you would need just over a 50% probability to be consistently profitable long term, you can see that the probability of the multiplier being under 2 is 52%, or 48% chance of being above 2, aka losing. For a multiplier of 10 where you would need just over a 10% chance of winning to profitable, you can see that there is a 90.4% chance of it being under 10, or 9.6% chance of being above 10, aka losing.

I've owned some btc since the bubble of 2013 where I bought in around 1k and then just held forever because it kept going down lol, but I had no idea this existed. It's so ingenious, it's legal because it's not using "real money", it's open sourced, and randomly based so no one feels cheated and then it's just easy money for the owner of the site. That's just such a smart play, damn.
