Excellent video! Thank you. It gives you a real feeling for what the synth sounds like and what it is capable of. I am always amazed when people say: Well, nothing my XY cannot do. In this video you should be able to hear what it cannot do: sound like this so effortlessly! Just one oscillator, saw wave, unison, detune, filter ... and you got an earth shaking, lively bass sound. Unfortunately, Moog messed up distribution in Germany and I have been waiting for mine for 2 months now, and it will not be delivered before end of November. So, grateful for this video which makes me anticipate the synth even more joyfully!

Great video! I returned my Moog One after 30 days of use. The One sounds OK, but just didn't do it for me, not to mention that I disliked the noisy fan. I just ordered the Muse, as I am really loving the demos that I'm hearing so far. For the price, I'm really liking what you get with the Muse and am hoping that it will give me the "Mooginess" that I did like with the Moog One, but without the loud fan and the insane price.

I find your Prophet comparison agreeable. As I'm listening to so many reviews of The Muse, I can't help but hear so many of the same beautiful Horn Sounds coming from my Prophet 08 (the predecessor to the REV 2 which everybody loves, and I personally find to be a little too bathed in digital EFX, while the 08 is just Analog to a T). Anyway, I find the Horn Sounds on the Muse SO COMPARABLE to those coming from the 08, which is about a third of the price of a Muse. However, Muse wins out when it comes to the Low End Grumbling and Roaring, thanks to it's Ladder Filters! However, the 08 has it's own kind of Low End character, which I'd describe as more Creamy, and Smooth. If someone has BOTH of these synths, I think a Blind Comparison between each would yield interesting results!

Right of the bat, the INIT patch gives you so much to work with, the fact that you have to dial Back and filter it to carve a rich sound is a strong point people seem to miss about this synth. Arturia hasn’t give me that on the Matrixbrute nor the polybrute, and anyone picking it are fooling themselves because they are mostly not real players, they just convence themselves that having poly aftertouch is what they need to sound better, but without rich base sound (oscillators and filter) you won’t get there. I Love this Review ❤

Great demo. I'll be sticking with my Moog One for now, as this is still a downgrade to the One. But I can understand if someone else sells their One for the Muse. It seems to be more for players than synth patch creators. Not having polyphonic aftertouch is still wild to me. And I agree with someone else in the comments of other videos; it sounds more like a Jupiter 8 than a Moog. Which isn't bad. Unless you view it as a bad thing.
@StoreDJ_online3 ай бұрын
Hadnt seen the Jupiter 8 comparisons, I guess a very clean patch with no overload at the mixer could sound reminiscent of a Jupiter, as soon as you bring that overload in though it's far heftier than anything i've heard from a Jupiter, huge bottom end. Poly aftertouch would have been very cool, but can't win em all! -Mike

@@StoreDJ_online my apologies. Those comments have been in other videos.
@stinkypete90703 ай бұрын
@JewelsFin I feel ya, it does feel more for players, not that that's a bad thing. I own a One, it's my only Poly too haha. I find myself conflicted about it, they've fixed somethings I dislike about the One which for me, its really only the fan and the lack of overdrive making some mono sounds feel a little weak without unison. Outside of using it as a modulation source - I don't care two hoots about the sequencer or new arp, when I noodle stuff I noodle it into my daw then loop it back (or on the moogs sequencer when Im mucking around.) Seems like they could add a vast chunk of this stuff to the one via a firmware update but I doubt they would. (Although if they keep it on market with the insane new prices they should imo.) But on the flip side as you said, there's a big downgrade about it too, I'd miss the layers, I'd miss extra LFOs, the extra mod evelopes, the effects, so on. At least for now, I don't think I'd sell the One and get a muse... But if my One ever broke down or I needed to move and sell it for whatever reason - I'd probably get a Muse, and even then I'd miss things about the One.
@kierenmoore32363 ай бұрын
Sounds more vintage Moog-y than The One … How is that a downgrade? Do you mean all the bells & whistles? Polybrute has bells & whistles … but then, its raw sound is liable to be confused with a Hybrid (but at a VCO price!)
@andreasoberg20213 ай бұрын
One is incredibly feature strong which is very useful when you build patches. 4 LFOs, 16 VCOs, very flexible FXs, incredibly powerful mod matrix. 3(!) filters with tons of settings, very smart UI, unlimited patches etc. Muse can still make sounds One cannot, that is always interesting. Muse has a cool base sound for example. It feels like it competes with Prophet 10 and OB X8 etc.

Great demo, glad i stumbled across this video! I finally feel like I know what the Muse sounds like now. My only question left after watching this is: Is the delay modulatable?
@EchoKraft3 ай бұрын
Wow 😮 WANT !!!!!!
@paulmapp83063 ай бұрын
I think I will be grabbing one. for ME, its missing a couple of things. a 3rd dedicated modulation envelope, dedicated reverb as well as delay (i use both together a LOT) - and ideally poly AT and 12 rather than 8 voices (though the latter isnt a big one really). BUT I dont have a Moog, it will complement my 3W and sequential 6 series synths. the alternative is a PB12 - but while that definitely has the expressiveness (and has the things I think the Muse is missing too) sonically - the Muse just sounds nicer (i had the PB6 for a while so am fully aware of what that can do sonically).
@nichttuntun33642 ай бұрын
Great you actually are programming this amazing sounding synths. I'm sure if there wasn't already an instrument called P440 Sweetspot (Pulsar Modular), Moog for sure would have named their new synthesizer SWEETSPOT instead of MUSE.

Instant classic. And it is its own thing ; not a re-issue like most recent polys, and a fat analogue sound unlike some impressive but very digital other synths. I can only think of Taiga as being in that league, although it's not a massive poly like this one. Makes me wonder if Moog will let go of the One, given this thing is damn close and a fraction of the price.
