It's really nice to see the decaying infrastructure cleaned and restored, even if the track configurations needed to change. As a visitor from Hong Kong in the 1990s, NYC's subways really scared me.

The last time I was in New York City - to attend my niece's graduation ceremony at Columbia medical School - my nephew decided that we should go on the convenient shuttle. That's when I learned that the S Subway was not yet handicapped accessible. It was a very miserable 15 minutes walking from the station up into Grand Central with my severe osteoarthritis. It was also annoying to the people who I was slowing down.

Seeing 6-car sets on tracks 1 and 4 is pretty wild, almost a full length station at GC and TS. And no track 3 in the way, should work out nicely. No more fussing over the track 1 shuttle train in TS since it was easiest to get to from 7th Av transfer.

This renovation is exactly what the Shuttle needed during busy hours. I only ever took it after 8-10pm from the 90's to the early 00's. As beat up as it looked back then, I really did like how it looked. So much cleaner now, but makes hunting for Contract 1 treasures a little more difficult compared haha.

That shuttle is transit's baby. They take real good care of that line. All for a 90 Second trip. That Madison Ave entrance is 1 block away from the Bryant Park 7 line station. Glad it finally got upgraded. When I used to work at Times Square I used to go to that underpass and it smells like straight mold. I know there's a track quarters on that platform by the 43rd st steps.

I've been away from home for almost two years, so I love seeing these renovations and how you presented them with the befores and afters with commentary. It's great now to be able to walk all that distance underground, with some more convenience of being able to get to the PABT from 6th Avenue. Unfortunately I had to skip your fast forward parts because they give me (and other people who suffer the same) motion sickness. Otherwise a great job and thanks for posting it! 🙂

Simply amazing & genius what is accomplished in underground building subway & adventure.... That's not all I believe at one time there was a walking corridor that led from 42nd Street to 34th Street 🤔 Did you know there was a corridor at Herald Square 34th Street that from 6th Avenue to Penn Station & Madison Square Garden? Another was 14th Street 6th Avenue corridor you could walk there beyond 7th Avenue to 8th Avenue all underground there ! I was against this project at first however they did leave out very necessary elevator access to the 6th Avenue Bryant Park platforms & the 7 Train as well. Please not leave that out otherwise clever !

We’re you guys on the Franklin Avenue shuttle tonight (Thursday evening 9/16). My partner and I worked the line and saw a bunch of kids with cameras at EVERY stop.

Great video! Very thorough! Really enjoyed the detail. My only suggestion to you would be to add voice narration instead of just text. The video becomes much more personal when a narrator is talking and describing the scene. Maybe English isn't your first language or there's some other reason you prefer not to talk. If so, fair enough. Again, I really liked the video. I just wanted to share my thoughts on how to make it even better. You clearly have a passion for MTA history. It would be great to hear that come out in your voice. Thanks!

Very Interesting to see, i wonder if the announcement in the future would include the 6th Avenue lines (1)(2)(3)(7)(A)(B)(C)(D)(E)(F)(M)(N)(Q)(R)(W) and (S)huttle to grand central

If I remember correctly the announcements don't consider A/C/E Port Authority as being in the same station as Bryant Park B/D/F/M

you have the best video on this new construction (or reconstruction) because you show the Before and After, making it clear what has changed. also since the new passageway is actually over Track 3, do you know what is over Track 2?
