They are now working on repairing this last building, I only managed to go inside of it once with some friends during the day time but even with the light we were still too afraid to enter the basement or cell area.

The Odd Fellows homes in Pennsylvania are funded by the wealthy and not so wealthy members of the Odd Fellows. One is near Harrisburg, the other near Grove City. In Pennsylvania we take the duty to relieve the distressed literally. We visit our sick, and we pay to bury our dead and educate the orphan. Near Erie Pennsylvania we maintain an orphanage ( mostly just a holding area until Children and Youth agency places them into foster care nowadays. We used to have an orphanage near Philadelphia but the need was not present so we shuttered the building. Odd Fellowship is alive and well in Pennsylvania. Subordinate lodges a plenty, 13 Encampments, Para Military Cantons, and Rebekah lodges. If you’re an Odd Fellow I invite you to come to Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Main St., across from the central park on a Friday night at 7:30 pm and visit us at Alma Lodge #523 IOOF. Our dress code is casual. Check us out at almalodge523.org

It's a pretty well known location but I still don't like identifying vulnerable places like this on the internet. I, too, hate seeing such a nice unique old place going to waste, but the good news is the main building on this campus has been re-purposed, so at least one of the structures has a viable future.

I live in Liberty, you don't have to pay for the tour because there really isn't one, it's just trespassing to go inside anyway, the winery however is in the middle of the buildings and is the only modernized building of the odd fellows, the winery building is also a museum where you can read actual facts about the place and even see the infamous and real "George" a skeleton of a real person that they keep on display in the winery. Kids usually go in at night when the place is closed to smoke in the abandon buildings, there isn't an official tour because these buildings are so unsafe that you could step in the wrong place at the wrong time and the whole building could come down that's why they don't want people going in there. But who wants to listen to that lol I go in there all the time
@ukobach_6667
@ukobach_6667 7 жыл бұрын
The winery is the very first building you come upon. The middle building was the old folks home, which has a lot of hauntings. And actually, there is a tour. The tours are ghost tours that take you in every building. The abandoned buildings are very sturdy, Jesse doesn't want people in there because there is a really big risk of asbestos.

I was here earlier today. Had some wine and explored. Saw a black frog in the basement which greeted us like a guide. There was also writing on the developed buildings window which said help me. Girlfriend saw a lady in traditional attire from the 1800's. We heard foot steps. And a few other odd occurences
@SovietXred2
@SovietXred2 6 жыл бұрын
nate.t17- I used to work at the winery, the writings on walls and doors and stuff is because every once in a while they turn the hospital building's first floor into a haunted house walk through in October like at amusement parks type of ordeal so they purposely put the writings on the walls and windows plus in some spots it is kids who got in and decided to write dumb shit on the walls and doors like "glory hole here" or "entrance to hell" you know that kind of stupid nonsense but the footsteps and stuff is a common thing people would tell us they heard plus the pianos in the main building was played by themselves a lot at night and outside one lady said she seen someone hanging from a tree but after a while if you work there you get used to the weird noises and they don't bother you that much but every once in a while I seen a shadow or a figure walking and there is a known spirit there we called 'Ed' who whistles old showtoon songs but it isn't like other haunted areas where the spirits will attack you and grab you and stuff like that nobody has been attacked there that I know of by any of the entities so they aren't anything to be afraid of

nate.t17 - yea I wouldn't recommend coming at night but not because it's haunted the activity is pretty much the same night and day, I hated people coming at night mainly because the buildings away from the Inn are in such rough shape I mean they only got a couple of years till they're considered unsafe to be in at all so when I was a groundsmen there I was afraid kids would sneak in at night and the floors would collapse from under them or something and nobody would be around to help them

Read up on Rosicrucianism. Manly P. Hall is a great source for understanding what beliefs and values are underlying TRUE Rosicrucianism and all its fraternities. Unfortunately, greed has corrupted these fraternal orders and I honestly don't know how many members of these orders know the truth. I believe Manly Hall had a firm grasp on the truth. He was a threat to those who veiled truth from its own members for the sake of hoarding power. Keep digging deep my friend.

I guess I missed these comments originally. I was not alone on this exploration. But I am rather skeptical of paranormal things and as such don't spook easily. I've done lots of solo exploring of old buildings, including an old funeral home, and I have a tendency to chase spooky things into existence or oblivion. I was once going through photos of an old hospital I explored alone and saw bloody footprints on the floor(!), which I totally missed in person. I'll admit, the hair on the back of my neck stood up. I couldn't wait to return, alone, and test the footprints with something like hydrogen peroxide to see if it bubbles up like it might if it was blood. Unfortunately, it was just paint, the result of someone's admirably well done prank in an otherwise vandalism-free old hospital building. Normally, things attributed to the paranormal are just natural phenomena of the structure, wind blowing doors closed/etc. I've never once encountered anything that genuinely spooked me while exploring.

@SovietXred2 6 жыл бұрын
Gaydolf Shitler- it isn't, they turned the main building which was the old Administration building into a winery however the two other buildings just got old and are falling apart, I used to work there and the floors are caving in at some areas and a lot of the stairways have completely broke off and the drywall is rotting out almost entirely I mean they are pretty ran down and there isn't much they can do with them, when I was working their they was seriously considering demolishing them and they already put a plan in to do that as well but they're still there I don't work there anymore so I don't know if they delayed it or if they chose not to considering id say 70% of the business that gets drawn in is because of the history of the place and the paranormal reputation so maybe they realized it would be bad for business to fully demolish them
