This reminds me of that old Sesame Street book “There is a Monster at the End of This Book.” If I remember correctly it was about Grover learning there was a monster at the end of the book and trying to prevent the reader from finishing it because he’s afraid of the monster. At the end we learn Grover was the monster and Grover laughs because he was worried over nothing. Very cute, very wholesome.

That's not how the SCP submissions are organized. Each set of 1000 SCPs (000-999, 2000-2999 etc.) is its own "series" and new submissions can be any available number within the most recent series. A new series cannot be started until the entirety of the newest one is filled with entries. SCP 5000-5999 is series VI (6) and to my knowledge is still incomplete. Whenever series VII (7) begins, The 6000th slot is available to any member of the site who wants to put their submission in it. But that might not matter since SCP's have to be about anomalies (and you can't have the same anomaly in different entries) and something like that would be more of a tale. And they also have to have more depth, not just a letter with a single sentence that requires context from another SCP.

I honestly really enjoyed this one and the explanation, finding out that you're a fictional universe and then trying to kill your creators is a very "Foundationey" thing to do.
@e.v48924 жыл бұрын
Meanwhile with 5500 that's exactly what happens. Except it backfires spectacularly and the known multiverse starts breaking down. In that SCP when an author is killed, universes with their work are destroyed. Also, when authors die they often die in methods relating to their most well known work. The SCP then turns into a choose-your-own-adventure hunt for a rogue entity out trying to kill the Authors. Multiple endings and answers to who the killer is exist. I'd recommend reading the declass on r/SCPDeclassified.
@undeadprinceofchaos37314 жыл бұрын

This article is like none other on the SCP wiki, and I say that with the utmost certainty. It can be taken so many different ways, and they’re all so good. I do have to say, TES, no matter how much love your videos, there was no way you were going to get the full effect of this article by voice alone. Reading through it the first-hell, even the second time, when the formatting was all set up-was something special. One of my favorite details that you missed: each of the sections of the article are written by a pre-existing Foundation staff member with connections to the idea of the universe being fictional. 7. Written by S Andrew Swann, creator of “The Database” proposal for 001, and the first to discover the fictional aspects of the SCP universe. 6. Written by Researcher Talloran, the star of SCP-3999, and the first to combat the one of the entities who write their world. 5. Written by Dr. Panagiotopolous, who has something to do with the Pataphysics department. Their motto is “killing our gods.” 4. Written by Director Menard, another core member of the Pataphysics department. 3. Written by Researcher Smalls, the focus of the documentation for SCP-3309. 3309, for the record, is an expansion on the concept of things in the SCP database being deleted from existence, shown as a article deletion notice. 2. Written by I. H. Pickman, the focus of the “Story of Your Life” 001 proposal. Essentially, it’s an expansion of Swann’s proposal, with some more details and clichés. 1. Written by the Containment Staff for SCP-5000 hey wait a minute that’s not right

Props to Trei for somehow managing to survive contact with the anomaly of the game up until the very end, I like to think they survived to live to an old age. This SCP initially scared me because it detailed events that were clearly, somehow, connected, but kept happening in ways that it seemed, the foundation could not contain. The body was buried, but then the town because an anomaly by itself. The witnesses bodies are burned, but their screams become heard in other places. This Is Where I Died is written in more and more places. Trei is never found, their copy of the game never retrieved, hell, a copy of the game is found in a WW1 trench, long before it should have existed! Cindy straight up leaves the foundation, people keep mysteriously dying. The more you read, the less the anomaly is contained (clever, since we are releasing it), and that was frightening. And then the end part, where a figure attempts to enter our reality, smiling. It is terrifying. This is the first time in my entire memory that reading something has caused me great fear. Kudos to the writer (ahem, sorry, the 05 council) for that. Though, a great shame for them that our reality has a tad more stable physics engine.

I still don't know how to feel about these more story-driven writing styles. While they are obviously well-written and conveys valuable information to keep the SCP headcannon in general going, I miss SCPs that are self-contained, without long logs, stories, and cross-references. It is a bit like 'power-creep' where once you have one SCP that's unfairly packed with a story-worth of information, all the other simple SCPs loses their appeal in comparison, and future authors' hands are 'forced' to comply to this new level of information and length.
@TheExploringSeries4 жыл бұрын

@@wrigglenight93 Nah, it’s pretty extreme to me. The Foundation is all about desperately clinging to control.
