So to recap the story so far: 1) SCP-6820 ("TERMINATION ATTEMPT"): The Foundation comes up with their boldest plan yet to kill SCP-682. It goes very badly. 2) SCP-6747 ("CHAOS THEORY"): The Foundation attempts to resurrect a dead employee with the power of metafiction. It goes very badly. 3) SCP-6659 ("METAGNOSTIC"): The Foundation creates a weapon capable of killing gods. This one actually goes quite well, up until it doesn't. 4) SCP-6488 ("EIGHTH COMMANDMENT"): The Foundation tries to solve the problem of rogue AIs once and for all. It goes _profoundly_ badly. Intermission) SCP-6183 ("B L A C K B O X"): The Foundation learns how to delete stuff from the wiki. It goes somewhat badly. 5) SCP-7243 ("EXISTENTIAL ABATEMENT"): The Foundation creates a system that retroactively prevents them from having a waste management crisis. It goes very badly, and also the world's most messed up enemies-to-lovers arc happens. In all seriousness, though, I absolutely love the Admonition series, and this feels like a fantastic culmination of the story arc so far. Can't wait to see what happens in the second half of the series!

Those two vitriolics ending up tying the knot, all of Japan possibly getting isekai'd, illegal garbage disposal to alternate universes instead of nations, Deering revealed to be a canon event personified and thus implyingly becoming another SCP, and another phase of events coming into play in the "end" of this? *Yes, everything surely and sorely is coming to order.*

The best explanation for why this universe's anomaly population suddenly skyrocketed is one or more alternate Foundations already thought of doing this. It's also a neat idea for a tabletop RPG. Imagine if the premise of your next D&D game was that the gods just sent everything they didn't want to this plane of existence. Monsters are heaven's former rodent problem, enchanted items are broken toys, even magic itself turns out to be wastewater flushed from celestial toilets. It also implies interesting things about the PCs. Remember how the Aesir threw baby Jormungand in the ocean because they didn't want him, and paid for their cruelty when he came back as a kaiju.

Dude this. I binge horror narrators. I’m picky on voice and cadence. I love the volgun, and I found this guy in the recommendations from that channel. And I realized he goes more in depth. So like all others. I go to the all videos (scp for this channel) sort it from oldest to newest and just listen to everything. I’ve spent a lot of the last year listening to this man’s work. It’s amazing. And here I am. A few months ago is when this was uploaded. I have 8 videos after this one until I am fully caught up on every scp video this man has ever made. And honestly that makes me so sad. I don’t want to have to wait for more. But I have no self control so on we go. 😊

@@oksure9261 Not very in the know of this sort of thing, but for me my current thoughts are just that most universes are part of the Multi-Foundation Coalition Pact and as seen in this article, if you misuse your power, they basically just destroy your access to their "plane" of Foundations, leaving you basically on your own. If you're familiar with a SCP-6820 at the beginning of this series *(ADMONITION),* apparently the timeline there and here is one and the same, and basically Goldbaker-Reinz and their associates (the SCP Foundation's insurance provider, who apparently unlike actual insurance providers will not actually cheap you out) from the multiverse had to basically reconstitute and fix the entire timeline, at great expense. Their contract with the SCP Foundation and legalese is designated SCP-6987, if you'd want to know more about that, but it includes coverage from basically every variant of the SCP universe which contains a Goldbaker-Reinz instance. They basically got evicted for this whole deal, and especially since ADMONITION-SCP is basically ran rampant by a bunch of people with a superiority complex, they basically saw all this shit and said, "thank you but we ain't paying for all the shit y'all cooking over there, and an obligatory note of please exercise caution when you are nuking the multiverse."

> Variation in cross-dimensional orbital mechanics results in the deposit of theovlavic material into the core of Sol. Correlation with subsequent solar alterations cannot be confirmed, due to the cessation of diplomatic relations with this iteration due to irreconcilable transhumanistic change. So, that's a nod to When Day Breaks, right? Surely just an easter egg, but it's suggesting that the When Day Breaks events are a part of this situation, isn't it?

The Admonition series is probably my favorite out of the SCP canon as it can mess around with a lot of really cool concepts and character arcs while still firmly being placed within the SCP universe. Each SCP is something that you could feasibly see an all-encompassing omega organization like the Foundation dealing with as they try to handle containing all the anomalies in their respective universes. I'd much rather have technobabble that makes sense after you really focus on the words than, like, Demon Ogier where it's pages upon pages describing fairy nightmare sasquatches that use blood magic to make like 7 anomalies that are somehow linked to an ancient civilization's ruin in the most contrived and bloated way possible to the point where you know fullwell it's not even an SCP story anymore.
@laggingdragons
@laggingdragons Жыл бұрын
I think what keeps me involved in SCP stuff to this day is the fact that you can get a technical explanation of time-warped, metascientific, pataphysical cognitohazards and literal interpretations of faerie tale blood rituals that put the Satanic Panic to shame and both of them are allowed to mesh together perfectly in the metanarrative of the SCP Foundation. I was into this stuff back before there were 1000 articles, I miss the days where it was just simple creepypasta style wiki articles with a style guide format. However, the reason I'm still _at all_ interested in where this has been taken is because it's almost impossible to find this type of thing anywhere else. Esoteric magic, raw science, and spicy cryptids all packed into a maki sushi roll that is held together with metaphysical nori? The only other place I've seen this eclectically delicious mix is in Perdido Street Station, which is quite possibly one of the best books I've ever read because or how masterfully the author mixed shit that doesn't make sense with shit that shouldn't make sense in a way that makes sense if you squint and tilt your head sideways.

I was curious if you might consider adding something to let people know which episodes are the finales of these multi part entries. I personally like to wait for the entire article to be out before I watch them, but it can sometimes be hard to tell when that is. It took me about a month before I was comfortable watching mamjul and korar, because I wasn't certain it was over. I understand that you might not want to put it in the tile to keep the tile more streamlined, and for various other reasons, but I was hoping you might consider saying in the description of the video if this is the last video for this entry.
@christiangauthier727

I second that! I also rather enjoy having access to the full Story instead of having each Story divided into Parts where I have to wait a whole week before the next one. I also tend to wait until all the Parts have been released before watching them, as I prefer to fully immerse myself in a Story and I find that longer narratives, especially those that are heavily detailed, aren't as enjoyable when interrupted and consumed one bite at a time; lots of elements can be forgotten this way if not fresh in memory (it also has to do with how well it's written, since texts that are unnecessarily bloated and contrived by excessive technobabble also become harder to follow & remember). It would be so simple to simply add /x, such as Part 3/5 in the Title to tell us where we're situated in the Story progress-wise. Or if it is still unknown how many Parts in total there will be at the time of posting the Video, at least indicating in the Description, as you said, if it's the Final Part or not, as well as saying it at the very beginning of the Video. It's not asking much, and it would be greatly beneficial for the Channel, on top of very appreciated by the Viewers.

Did he not say it was three parts in the first one? Although I guess that's in the video and not the title. He did say in the post announcing it, but again not the title. I guess an "of three" isn't so much to ask.

Does anyone else miss SCPs that didn’t require you to have several years worth of background in the community to understand and enjoy? Like I’m sure this has an audience and it’s not terrible, but I feel like I need to know every other scp in this person’s catalog, have a thesaurus on hand, and know deep lore about inside jokes between community members to have any idea what’s going on here. I like the part of SCP that’s weird monsters and places that we’re trying to understand through science.

Yeah, I've thought the same thing. Maybe they think the waste will eventually "leak", into their reality or the Ethics committee would veto it. Maybe putting it somewhere that is multiple dimensions away from them, if that makes sense.
@LetsTalkAboutPrepping
@LetsTalkAboutPrepping Жыл бұрын
That's all addressed early on. The waste isn't just some trash u can put somewhere. The waste itself is also anomalous, and varied in nature, and they sont know how each type of anomalous waste would react with an scp. Fill the idea with peanuts bio goo, and u might end up with an infinite idea FULL of statue ikea workers. Take the Old Man's acidic black goo and start throwing it in The Red Pool. Suddenly every creature that comes out of the red pool oozes black acid and can drag you into a pocket dimension. Putting scp waste into scp's is like throwing nuclear waste into a chemical vatand dumping that on a public bonfire

Another point is they don't actually know the end or if it's other openings in those objects. They might be like a porous stone will leak liquid or gas despite being a solid rock wall, it just seaps back in our reality. Or the waste might even eat its way back through like acid making a new exit, given some actually does stuff like that in their respective stories.

Have anyone here heard of the Lobotomy Corp series made by Project Moon? A heavily SCP inspired games? Because i feel like current SCP wiki are trying to be a full story based, but completely ignore what made SCP story great, and LobCorp/Library of Ruina/Limbus Company somehow managed to do what people are doing correctly

So dumping anomalous waste in random parallel universe Site-43s created SCP-5243, and Philip E. Deering's mirror monster (appropriately named "Doug") SCP-5056A is either the Admonition canon's Dougall or Philip or an amalgamation of both.

Classic Foundation did a ton of bullshit. What are you yapping about? If they weren't murdering a bunch of D-Class in stupid experiments, they were actively allowing horrible things to happen, or making things worse. ADMONITION's Foundation is totalitarian and hubristic by design. Site-17 Deepwell (Which ADMONITION is a spin-off of) establishes the Foundation as a genuinely menacing force that does not care about individual lives, and seeks to establish global ignorance. Classic Foundation, by contast, often feels like a bunch of bumbling idiots despite allegedly being a scientific institution.

I’m pretty sure there’s bound to be tons of technobabble when trying to write about machines that KICK TRASH OUT OF REALITY BEFORE IT CAN COME INTO PHYSICALITY lmao. Scps are usually written with physics in mind, so there’s obviously gonna be a lot of terms to be used in its writing to describe such fantastical machines.

Something that just keeps bothering me about these and similar articles is how there always has to be human judgement error/feelings in play, because theres no way any of those crazy experiments go wrongin any other way. Its always because someone thinks they have to avenge somebody, too much hubris or just being plain childish .
@TheCrazyCapMaster
@TheCrazyCapMaster Жыл бұрын
Yep, the problem is that humans will ALWAYS have these emotional flaws, errors in judgement and such. This is a big reason why they were relying on AI for so many tasks, but that’s gone out the window after Lotus. Ironically, with Deering considering himself and his own desires to be worthless, he was better able to see things logically without his own emotions blinding him too much, by the end of the loop anyway. And the original machine did actually only fail because rogue AIs got into it and screwed things up, until then it was functioning just fine. Lotus was definitely a major mistake, as if the Foundation hadn’t done that, the machine wouldn’t have retroactively started failing in reaction to the shutdown that allowed the rogue AI attack.

Yeah. We don't get see & enjoy a lot of Mature, Emotionally Intelligent Characters in Fictional Narratives in the last decade. They've almost gone extinct, and it's sad, but it has very often has to do with the limited Life Experience that a lot of today's Authors have compared to those in the Past, at the same age. Look at J.R.R. Tolkien for example, who participated in a war, travelled, had led a very rich life, was an Academic, a Spouse & a Father, had lived in the countryside: he had a lot of experiences to draw upon, lots of opportunities to learn critical Life Lessons to later share them in his works. I'm not saying that this is the case with this SCP, but it is with a lot of Modern Storytelling.

@@TheCrazyCapMaster yeah this all Tracks. But just from a writing perspective its giving me headaches. The Foundation always is written with a degree of competence and you know, in real life even experiments without time travel or eigenweapon capabilities have an overseeing comittee and idk more than 3 people working on it. Its giving me "suspension of disbelief"-whiplash, as the story keeps telling us about how this thing operates and the numerous failsafes built into with glorious technobabble, but 1 guy can just go into a room and has full control over whats basicslly a doomsday device? Meh
