Try to “capture” yourself in the present moment. Ask yourself “who am I now, in this very moment” and push away any thoughts that pertain to memory and interpretations. You will discover you are in fact a very calm, peaceful presence and awareness, with-no-problems-whatsoever….

Great explanation of our true selves, body/mind/ego has very strong pulling force with body sensations and thoughts and it can drag us very fast into illusion where suffering and false beliefs are created/perpetuated...pulling ourselves our of it is by observing and be aware of that cloudly illusion or suffering, that is why it is important to practice and remind ourselves of our true nature/awareness (I am) especially in the midst of great pain/suffering when body/mind/egomis fully activated...thanks Rupert for great reminder🙏

Thank you! It is a really splendid explanation of the differences between thinking and awareness. The thinking constructs subject-object disposition and builds the judgment about object: is it true or false, good or bad, right or wrong? The awareness radiates the love and fills all field of experience with the calm and peace.

Answer to her question ... Because of the ego which is a part of the experience of body mind functioning ... the ego which is generated through the storehouse of consciousness lives in a subject object experiencing... man experiences life this way .. until there is an awakening out of subject object experiencing.. when this occurs it is known as non duality ... because consciousness no longer sees or experiences from the perspective of the person .. but now sees or experiences through that which all things spring ... all things manifest are in reality expression of who you truly are.

Krishna clearly says in verses 4 and 5 of the 7th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita that the mind (thoughts, feelings, etc) and that which experiences the mind, are two different energies. The mind belongs to what Krishna calls His apara shakti (inferior energy) and the experiencer of the mind (the jiva, which is the atma limited by the the mind and body) belongs to His para shakti (superior energy). Krishna never says that the mind and the experiencing consciousness are one and the same thing. In order to squeeze this meaning out of the these two verses, you really have to do some gymnastics, which is what you have to do again and again if you want to squeeze Advaita out of the Bhagavad Gita.

@@youssefalaoui4286 You're welcome. Here are the verses I'm referring to, with romanisation of the Sanskrit, translation of each word, and the translation: Bhagavad Gita Chapter 7 verse 4: bhumir apo 'nalo vayuh kham mano buddhir eva cha ahankara itiyam me bhinna prakritir astadha Translation of each word: bhumir (earth); apah (water); analah (fire); vayuh (air); kham (space); manah (mind); buddhi (intellect); eva cha (and indeed); ahankara (ego/sense of individuality); iti (such); iyam (this is); me (my); prakritih (material energy); bhinna (divided); astadha (eightfold). Translation: Earth, water, fire, air, space, mind, intellect and ego - this is My material energy (prakriti) divided into eight categories. ~~~~~~~~~~ Bhagavad Gita Chapter 7 verse 5: apareyam itas tu anyam prakritim viddhi me param jiva bhutam maho baho yayedam dharyate jagat Translation of each word: iyam (this); apara (is my inferior energy); maha baho (o mighty armed one, meaning Arjuna); tu (but); viddhi (you should know that); anyam (distinct); itah (from this); me (is My); param (superior); prakritim (energy); jiva bhutam (the individual Self or jiva, meaning the conditioned atma); yaya (by whom); idam (this); Jagat (cosmos); dharyate (is sustained). Translation: This (referring to the material energy described in verse 4) is My inferior energy, O might armed one, but you should know that distinct from this inferior energy is my superior energy which consists of the individual Self (the jiva), by whom this cosmos is sustained. To summarise: In verse 4 Krishna describes His inferior material energy, which includes the mind. It is called 'inferior' and material because all eight aspects of the material energy are changing and insentient. In verse 5, Krishna says that aside from this inferior material energy of His, there is also His superior energy which is the conscious Self (atma, known as the 'jiva' when it is conditioned by the mind and body). This superior energy (the atma) is called 'para' or superior, because unlike the material energy, it never changes and it is sentient or conscious. This is the true Self, ie. the consciousness that is aware of the mind.

I would give you the links to them here, but I also found that when I put links in a comment, it seems to cause my comment to be hidden. God's frustration : He can't escape from Himself . He tries to by taking the form of a human .
@mikefoster5277
@mikefoster5277 25 күн бұрын
That is one possible interpretation out of many. For example, I myself have also suggested before (on this channel) that God creates the universe in order to know itself/'himself' - i.e. through the very experiencing of its own manifest creation. But then maybe all of these various ideas and interpretations are actually false and unnecessary. The truth could be more simple than that. So simple in fact that it cannot be understood intellectually. In other words, that there _are_ no reasons - no causes, no frustrations, no trying to achieve anything. Perhaps what we are witnessing here is nothing more than God's very nature in action. Total freedom, simply doing what it does.

I created this Game in my own Independence. And it was a rule of the Game, made by me in my Independence, that as I take form I'll forget myself. I thought that if I can remember myself after taking form, then the Game will not be as fun. Taking myself as an ego is part of the Game. The Game is losing yourself and finding yourself. The Game is expressing yourself. This is my Raas-Leela, my perfect divine play to express myself. This world is perfect, because it's the only world there is. Nothing ever goes wrong. This is what I can remember.

@@SillyHumons Personally, I prefer to think of reality as being not only infinite potential, but also having an innate intelligence to it - a kind of living being, if you like. Capable (naturally and spontaneously) of producing, within itself, the creation we see around us. I'm not sure how your own hypothesis works, but to me it sounds more like something random, inert, mathematical and essentially 'dead' in nature. If I'm mistaken, then where does the creative intelligence come from in that system?

Unfortunately, organic beings require food, drink, sleep, a slim temperature range in which to function, and the ability to perpetuate those things without worry of failing to achieve any one of them. In the meantime, for those who are wealthy enough to be "beyond" such banal terrestrial concerns, well, THOSE people can start thinking about how each individual is an amalgam of their memories. For, *without* your memories, WHO AND WHAT ARE YOU? Nothing. No one. Useless. Seriously, think about it: if your memories were--for example--limited to 30-60 days of capacity, "who" would you be in December or January? And then later on in June? Must give us pause. 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨

@@theindigopickle Thanks, I was not explicit in my question. I do you know that unlimited awareness is the ultimate reality? Jane could ask herself if she is real or if she is the dream of someone else. Why not Mary?
@theindigopickle
@theindigopickle 24 күн бұрын
@@asassa01 Mary, ignoring the fact that she is Mary and believing that she is Jane (in the dream), is the one that asks the question. Mary then recognizes herself as Mary and sees that there was never an actual entity named Jane that could ask the question. It was Mary all along. To Mary, it is self-evident that she is Mary and has always been Mary and there is nothing other than Mary. Mary knows.
@asassa01
@asassa01 23 күн бұрын
@@theindigopickle Even Jane knows. Until she wakes up. But Mary here is the ultimate reality, and this is what I question. Anyway, this is the viewpoint of someone who never experienced unlimited awareness. Feeling that you are one with the world, does it imply that you don't recognize the power of this collective dream? If a lion is chasing you, do you let it catch you because you are one with it? There is no "separation"? Even an "awakened" person will run away. The only difference, I believe is that there is no one running away, there is just "running away".

@valuemastery 24 күн бұрын
It's the analogy of dreaming. The dreamer (called Mary by Rupert) falls asleep and dreams she is Jane experiencing the streets of London (or any other city). The main point of the analogy is, that the perceived separation between Jane and her surroundings is an illusion, since both subject and object take place in Mary's mind. The names Mary and Jane in this analogy do not point to different persons, Rupert just uses different names as a way to distinguish between the dreamer and the person in the dream, which ultimately is of course the dreamer as well.
