That's not quite how the story goes, Dan wasn't forced to sell The Swan he'd sold it to buy Walton Hall and invest in that, he had the house at Henley and a couple of places in London beforehand, he would buy property and sell them, I knew Dan and others for over 40 years, don't believe everything you might read on the Internet

@@belyiam I can say most definitely not and he sold his home at Henley and bought his brother, sister in law a house as they looked after The Pool House and lived at the cottage adjoining it, and sold some of his cars etc because he didn't like owing money, the two Canadians were conmen, however at no point were they investors, they had spoken with both Jack and Dan, plus his solicitors and they were going to manage the place as he was always off touring the world. They did as many checks as were possible back then and nothing worrying came back, they didn't pay the butcher, baker candlestick maker and others because the deeds were still attached to Dan name, he hadn't signed things over to give them the running of everything, because the suppliers knew Dan the amount built up over 1.8 million back then, hence his carrying on working the majority of the year here and abroad and then losing Jack suddenly in New Zealand the following year, his Catholic Faith got him through along with the love and support from family friends and of course his fans
