I took my future wife to see Mesa falls before the boardwalks and paths were built. We climbed down the hill side and stood on the rocks that the board walks now cover. The visitor center at the top was just a boarded up old building. The amazing thing that happened is the power company that originally owned the site never dammed it up and build a power generation facility. Talk about luck and good fortune. The walkways and stairs do make it more accessible and are keeping the hills from getting more destroyed. We brought friends to see the falls last summer. It is still amazing after 52 years.

Wow that is awesome! I'm so glad to hear that you were able to experience that beauty before the boardwalk was built. I’m sure it was quite the sight without anything obstructing the view. I will be uploading my mesa falls video next! It truly is a magnificent waterfall.

When I used to have go work in Jackson or Driggs and head back to Idaho falls I would try to keep up with the traffic down pine creek. Some times 80 would not be enough. A beautiful drive.
