Hello there, the Nene Valley Railway no longer has the French Nord Compound locomotive, the French Nord second class corridor carriage, the German 2-6-4T Class 64 No. 64.305 and also the HUGE German/Polish 2-10-0 Class 52/Class Ty2 has also gone. The large steam locomotive you saw in Railworld is a Danish State Railway 4-6-2 pacific and there is a fully restored and operational Danish State Railway 0-6-0T Class F No. 656. The other working steam locomotive is the HUGE Polish State Railways 0-8-0T Class Slask No. Tkp 5485 (no it is not German at all in any way), built as recently as 1959 would you believe! The saddle tank that you were posing on the footplate is Hunslet 0-6-0ST 'Jacks Green'. The large light blue steam locomotive is the Swedish 4-6-0 Class B No. 101A built in 1944 to a design dating back to 1909 and I have fond memories of riding behind No. 101A between 1996 - 2005. The line the Nene Valley Railway runs on continued onto March and Cambridge. Best wishes and take care. Kind regards, Peter Skuce, St Albans. Hertfordshire.

The Swedish B Class, 101 built in 1944 but the design is from the Swedish Railways in 1909 was used in the James Bond Movie Octopussy when they used the train to crash into a car but also the Nene Valley Railway has appeared in two James Bond Films, Octopussy as mentioned and Goldeneye when they disguised a Class 20 as a Former Soviet locomotive, Love seeing the Pacer Train... The train that never dies and speaking of Class 507s, Are you doing the Farewell Tour on Sunday? Great video

@@Sim0nTrains after that it's the 455s last I suppose? Sad. They are very reliable trains especially with the new vossloh motors, which have extended their lives. Don't suppose you know if one if them is getting preserved Simon?
@Sim0nTrains2 ай бұрын
@TrainLifeGB Not sure if a Class 455 will be preserved at the moment

@@Sim0nTrains most likely gonna do a 456 and all get Scrapped tbh. Sad though, they are a big part of southern and swr history, as they have probably been the trains that have kept these franchises running.

I went here about 1 month ago for the gbrf event. Its a 4hr 30m drive to the railway and the problem was the trains didnt go up to peterborough they stopped at the station before. Also, the trains were very crowded so you couldnt see out the window. I would love to go here on a less crowded day

I suggest try to spend less time with the "talking heads" shots telling us all about what there is, and use the time to put in views of those things! Would make it much more interesting and informative.
