Same old same old in every town from Inverness to Penzance. Chicken shops, Betting shops, Turkish barber shops, Ethnic restaurants, Phone shops, Charity shops and Pound shops. More people, more dirt, more grime, more rubbish. Less greenery, less class, less original architecture and less English language - 3:34 All the Cinemas, Debenhams, BHS's, Markets, Butchers, Bakers and individual bric a brac shops have been replaced. It's changed so much since I left the area! I spent my teens in Langley (Middle Green Rd) and went to school there. I remember there was a lot of redevelopment in the town centre in the 70's; the library on the roundabout, the ugly windy bus station and Queensmere. The Greyhound Stadium still existed back then, on the way towards Langley at the junction of Uxbridge Rd, think it's a supermarket now. McDonald's opening on the High St was a big deal around '75-76ish. Funny to think that now, when there's at least one on every shopping street. Thanks for the memories!

The video is incredibly misleading. I have visited that town in the past because of the movie studios located in and around it which is big business. The centre is very industrial as it was the biggest trading estate in Europe. However the areas less than mile outside the centre, which all part of slough are very beautiful and nice. The high street looks like that because some years ago the Qataris bought up all of it. It going to have billions of pounds worth of redevelopment, hence why all the shops are empty as leases are not being renewed. Thats because its all going to be knocked down and rebuilt. The town is going through massive redevelopement. The London Tube line has now extended to it, which is going to rocket investment and house prices. According to the figures the town also has the most millionaires in the country. Showing just a few bad corners like every town has, is a very untruthful way to display the town.
@TheJungliViajero9 ай бұрын
You clearly didn't watch the video properly.. I mentioned that certain towns in Slough borough are nice, and that the entire borough isn't rough. I also mentioned the good things about Slough including the Elizabeth line, the high employment rate, good schools, and great food available. But let's have it right, Slough central is not a normal, nice town take it from someone that has spent a lot of time there, in many parts of the town. It is significantly more dangerous, run down and unsafe than all the surrounding areas such as Windsor, Maidenhead and Uxbridge, and at school we'd constantly here stories and warnings about knife crime, muggings and predators. These are issues that really weren't an issue in the town that I lived in just 20 mins away from Slough. Ask anyone that lives there, they'll tell you that the main high street is not a great place. Hopefully the redevelopment will change that, but who knows
