Thank you for the awesome ride! We arrived at MCO on 11/16/24 and drove through The Villages that day to show a friend around. Had lunch at Cody's in Brownwood then on to our destination in Kissimmee. Did our lifestyle in Feb 2024 and visited one other time before that. Hopefully someday we can at least be snowbirds!! I see the benefits of the southern section for those of us in our early 60's and soon to be retirees. Good luck with your decision and thank you for your service to our great country.

Beautiful Corvette!!! After our lifestyle visit in August we ended buying in Dabney, the most southern neighborhood north of the turnpike. It’s quite overwhelming deciding where you might want to live when buying in The Villages. We’re very happy with our decision since we’re just a hop, skip and a jump over to Eastport but decided that we didn’t want to be so close to all the new construction which will be years in the making. We thought we might not like being “so far” (as some people like to say) away from a larger square but we really enjoy the smaller Sawgrass Square for entertainment. Yesterday we took our first golf car ride to Brownwood and was pleasantly surprised that it only took a 1/2 hr and it’s a beautiful and easy ride to get there. Being retired, we have the time it takes for a little bit of travel. We’re also enjoying the ease of shopping and restaurants outside of the bubble since we are literally right around the corner from Leesburg. It’s nice to have so many options of in the bubble or outside the bubble. Being so close to a turnpike exit is a plus too. So far, we’re very happy with our village choice. We tell people that we live in the “suburbs” and really enjoy the quiet and low traffic/population but we’re a short ride via car or golfcar to be right in the middle of all the new and exciting area of Eastport. But as they say, you end up moving an average of 3 times once you get here (and we have met so many people who are on their third move so it must be true) so who knows what the future holds. Right now after only being here 3 weeks, I say no way am I ever moving again😂

Nice Video. We rented for a month near Lake Sumter Landing. Mission of Hacienda Hills. You passed it on your ride. We visited the Street of Dreams and surrounding neighborhoods, during our visit. Even went to some driveway parties. It's exciting to see the new growth. But I find that I really like the already established mature area of the Villages in the North. I also noticed that the South has a lot of power lines in the neighborhoods. I also noticed they are not putting up walls or foliage behind the homes facing the roads. The High School is amazing. I have coworkers whose kids go to the high school. They love it. We enjoyed a show at The Tracy last week and it was a nice venue. It seems like you get more bang for your buck though if you go north and buy a home that is updated with driveway pavers, new doors and remodeled. No bond. New, you pay for the upgrades and have a bond. I don't know. It's hard to know. lol Decisions, Decisions

Thanks for your videos. Just as an FYI, as we are moving into Middleton, they do in fact have golf carts there too. Lots and lots of golf carts. The golf paths are totally integrated with the rest of the villages, which makes it great for families and seniors alike.

I was in Sarasota (Anna Marie Island) last week and I totally get why people move/retire there. It’s so relaxing. The weather was amazing. The traffic is a bit much but once you get over that Florida is such a vibe. At 60, I’m thinking I got to buy a lattice 2/2 condo. Just somewhere to escape to. Keep up the good work. Hey, Chief! Enjoyed your drive through down to Eastport and Middleton. We have been renting here in St. Catherine for the past two months. I think we’ve driven that same route or parts of it every day since we arrived. We pulled the trigger on a home in Shadybrook and will be closing in about a week. I agree with your assessment of the area around Middleton. Looks like it’s going to be a great place to live. Hope we see you around the villages soon.

The new Villages High School is very close to Moultrie Creek and Shady Brook. Does that mean there will be high school kids and younger non-retired families in that area and at the Saluki rec center?

Probably, although probably not at the rec center that’s still for villagers and guests only I would imagine

The rec centers are all still for Villages residents and guests (with passes) only. The squares and other common areas are already open to the public, so Middleton residents of all ages will have access just like anyone does now. It looks like they're designing the downtown Middleton area with lots to do with the hopes of keeping the younger Middleton crowd in place as much as possible. The championship golf courses have special rates for Middleton residents, so you might see a small uptick in traffic on the bigger courses once Middleton is fully developed. The Eastport square also seems to be geared towards more athletic and younger retirees, so the handful of teens who might walk to the area probably wouldn't seem as out of place as they would at a cardio drumming class in Spanish Springs.

Well if you're not gonna have a golf cart, you chose the perfect car to drive around the Villages in. It will be beautiful down in the south, but it's so far! It'll be years before they have the tree canopy that we have. The sun can be pretty intense without it. Shady Brook isn't shady yet. Have you seen the new Mirabela (sp?) villas, the courtyard villas they're building next to the Hacienda Hills Golf Club? They're right down the street from you. Brand new homes but an established environment. They're gorgeous!

Curious of your current opinions on gyms and fitness centers in TV. I had a Lifestyle Visit a few months ago and was not too impressed with the rec center fitness centers considering the cost.

There is a brand new genesis gym in Spanish Springs and one in Brownwood I think, anyway I’m gonna checkout the new genesis club soon and probably make a video about it. Also there is a brand new planet fitness that opened up here just outside the villages north end

It’s a new community built by the villages for families and to allow workers to live nearby that work in the villages. It’s next to the retirement areas although anyone can live there, it’s pretty nice.

Geez updated exteriors from when your house was built - shocking. I personally think some of those newer houses are ugly. Our kids considered moving here and was disappointed in the curb appeal of the houses in Middleton. Our house values between 466 and 44 seem to be doing very well. Like the new vehicle.
