I don't know how all of these kayaker's manage to paddle in 'glass' like water conditions. Every time I go out there's chop and waves going against me and the wind is blowing against me both directions.

It was dead flat indeed. There are calm days with no wind as well, it is not something totally unusual. Anyway, with sea-kayaks we can enjoy the sea in a wide range of conditions, that’s the most important.
