I absolutely loved Arequipa. I went twice to Cusco and Macchu Picchu but definetely preferred Arequipa. And I was lucky enough to see 10 wild Condors in the Colca. I stayed in a Hotel with an overview to Santa Catalina. Could see it from my window.

We definitely preferred Arequipa as a city to Cusco and Lima. It's a beautiful place 😍 wow you got so lucky...we spotted 3 condors I think overall and were very happy with that 😊🙏

@@abduljabbarlaghari3914 yeah we felt perfectly safe there. Just stick to the main areas, don’t walk around alone at night and watch out for pickpockets in crowded places. The usual stuff 👍

how many days would you recommend staying in arequipa?

Probably 2 days if you just want to do the city and maybe a day trip to either the Colca Canyon or the quarry where they mine the white stone. If you want to do the Colca Canyon hike then you’ll need more days obviously but just for the city probably 2 👍

Can you suggest what neighborhood(s) in Arequipa have the least amount of roaming barking dogs?

@@JWinch probably not with great certainty! You’re in Peru so there are stray dogs everywhere. They don’t really bark at you though and are generally quite friendly. Stick to the city centre. They’ll be dogs there but they shouldn’t bark at you…mostly just at each other 👍

@@KittiandJon I am not concerned with who they are barking at. It is the sound of frequently barking dogs that is the problem. It irritates me and makes me want to find somewhere else to stay.
