Birds are sold exactly the same way in uk , usa & any country where selling bird is legal . They are caged & often their wings are clipped so they don't fly away . It depends on the owner how they'd keep those birds . It's the same for all pet stores too . They might keep them in fansy glass boxes , they are still caged . In an ideal world this wouldn't happen , animals would only be adopted . But alas , looks like the " developed " nations haven't managed to do it yet either .

My 6 year old watches all these with me and this one made him cry and he went “ where is the mamas to all the baby’s they want their mama..” thank you so much for showing me and my child the difference between the USA and all other countries. You have changed my sons entire perspective and have made him appreciate food, electricity, our home, and life in general. We are in a 1 bed apartment and he says look how good we have it. It’s not really the same thing. These animals can’t be compared to animals that are born and raised to be slaughtered and are kept in good condition and fed well before being killed. In the uk at least, Animals for slaughter mostly aren’t kept in these conditions. I would bet a lot of money that those rabbits weren’t just caged before the market.

It really is , our family has a dog and 3 cats but we, indian dogowners, do not walk our dogs outside that much(we only take them for walk in our own gardens or a park near the home or residential society(it is risky as the dog stool in the society can cause trouble with other residents in the same society)) because of the high chances of getting it bitten by a rabid stray dog ... It happens a lot when than you expect , many dogowners in our neighborhood lost their dogs because of this ... The stray dog issue is real bad in India and the higher percentage of the Indian stray dogs being rabid worsens it...
