Joe Nice Job One comment, I am a Carbonate Sedimentologist currently using satellites to monitor the production and transport of fine carbonate sediment. Mostly in Tropical carbonate systems such as the Bahamas and the Coral Sea. As you were setting up your comparison of the retreat of the cliffs at Dover you passed over some huge white "plumes" in the littoral zone. The cliffs are indeed retreating and all that chalk is being suspended and moving north. I have been keyed-in on the look of suspended carbonate mud for over a year now so I could not miss this! I will now be monitoring mud plumes at Dover. Note - I use the MODIS on Terra and Aqua for daily recon. I then go to Landsat 8 and the Sentinels for high resolution. The latter coverage is still spotty but with more satellites, we are getting closer to daily high-resolution images! It is indeed a fascinating time for satdat science!
