You don't have to keep the metallurgy widow open to level it up. Mine has been leveling up just by doing it. Go to hotels you'll find a ton of good loot. Especially ammo. I want to say I found a lot of books in the Hotels or it may had been the train station inside the red luggage bags. The problem is finding level 1 books to get started on the other levels. It's an addicting game. God Bless, bro

You should start a new play thru with more focus on the tech tree! You have to build a Control Center so that hostage NPCs will spawn at the bandit camps. Then they will help you. I havent gotten that far yet but Im looking forward to it!! If I can ever get past those much too tanky bandits, lol!

As was said before the best way to train up skills is from the traders. their is an online interactive map that shows which trader trains and sells what. Need to give them stuff for rep points only up to 100 then ask "what can you teach me". To get an npc at your base you first have to build the command center, then after that an npc prisoner will appear at designated bandit camps. 5 total, not all bandit camps have an npc. locations of npc's are also on the interactive map. highly recommend you check it out, will save a lot of time and frustration. After you get an npc you have to build one of the buildings that say increases productivity for them to actually get stuff for you. npc's are very resource intensive and pretty much the end of the game, you need a few of them as well as a couple productivity buildings for them to really be worth it. and as a side note, plea.... please stop crashing your car :) running around on foot will be the death of this stream.

You can make coffee instead of just eating the raw beans. Mix one coffee beans with two water in your cooking station.

Hit the trader with all your zombie loot and get the metal spear or two. It will last much longer. Thank you for the stream.

Man the rate of skill progression is painfully slow. 7 episodes and you're not even able to make metal weapons. Compare this to other survival games. Speaking of weapons the wear rate for them is ridiculous. Zombie animations are hilariously bad, like a parody of the thunderbird puppets, lack of stealth is ridiculous, sprinter occurrence is also crazy high. It wouldn't take much to greatly improve the game, but I would personally play it in this state. Has there even been an update since you started playing.
