Complimenti, sei bravissima. Complimenti davvero. La conoscenza, lo studio, la preparazione, spazzano via superficialità e mostrano la bellezza, la raffinatezza, il gusto. Chapeau

I'm from Trani, I've always had a sort of hate/love relationship with my home (like many of us do) but it was nice to see an outside prospective of my town, kind of refreshing.

I'm so glad!! (And yes, I think it's a completely normal thing to have a love/hate relationship with where you're from! I know what you mean). From my perspective, this is a wonderful place to be :) :) :)

This was a very good exercise. I loved it! I am an Italian living abroad and sometimes I noticed something that locals did not connect just for habits, but usually connections I make are about odd things and habits and then when I report them it often sound like a joke. Example: I said that the "Jig-Saw sound is the soundtrack Slovak Weekends ". Slovakian love to hear that. They love to to be recognized as a population of bricoleurs(bricolage). They feel somewhat proud.

Ciao Katie! "Quirky" is a really hard one to translate to Italian because the concept is somewhat foreign to Italians. I'm Italian-American, born and raised in Florence, Tuscany, and as far as I understand "quirky" means: strange, unusual, non-conventional... all in a good way! Culturally, many Italians still have some catching up to do on the concept of different=good, but they're on their way :) That said, I think the closest translations are either "strambo" or "strampalato", so maybe "rimanete strambi". Hope this was helpful!

This is my favourite pasta recipe with anchovy: press some peel almond (mandorle pelate) in grain,, in a pan add olive oil anchovies, capers, one spoon of ortolina and boiling water from pasta, no salt usually necessary, no other flavours. It should become a bit creamy when the water is vaporized up and this is the time to stop flame below the pan I use spaghetti de cecco or voiello Best type of anchovies comes from Sciacca, sicily, usually those are sold in a big tin can or a big glass
@TheQKatie
@TheQKatie 4 жыл бұрын
Oh wow -- grazie! Thank you for all these tips; I'm going to get Sciacca anchovies, asap...and will try making this dish! (Does it have a name, or is it just something you made up?) Also -- ortolina passata or ortolina concentrato?
@quelodequelo

@@TheQKatie concentrato. Ortolina + anchovies spaghetti is a dish that my wife loved during pregnancy, lately she added almonds and capers and created this fantastic recipe that caused my last 2kg fat during pandemic 😅
