The handlebars being too wide is a very easy fix. I brought a Trek Roscoe 8 and found the 780mm handlebars really put me in an uncomfortable stance. If you take off the grips the handlebars are marked with white paint lines and the number indicating its length. I hacksawed off 15 mm on each side as I noticed most Trek X-Country mountain bikes were 750mm. This subtle change was much more comfortable for my geometry and even if you saw off the bar sloppy, the sloppy cut is completely covered when you put the grip back on.

That’s pretty cool thank you for the heads up. I thought I had to purchase a whole new handlebar

I'm a beginner who just wants to get into mountain biking to get a little fitter. I noticed that they have the Roscoe 7 and 8 on sale for 1.4k and 1.6k respectively. Which one should I choose?

I would get the Roscoe 8 for the break upgrade. For steep downhill, you notice that the brakes could be better on Roscoe 7

I’m not sure which measurement that is. I got the ML one which is probably good for people just under 6 feet

Agreed, but it’s much more expensive

For the price of the Roscoe 9 you could just get a full sus it's way overpriced

This is a beautiful bike, congratulations! My own dilemma at the moment is that I can't decide between the Roscoe and the new Orbea Laufey.

You can rent a Trek bike at a local Trek store for a day or two if that helps your decision. Both look great.

Unfortunately, it's not that easy here in Europe, nobody has bikes in stock and test rides are literally impossible.@@Alex_Varney_Show

@@danvalicek Gotcha. If you do plan on riding it hard, I would get the next level up of Trek. That way you have the nicer brakes and fork.
