In this video I paddle upstream of the old gold mining town of Corinna in search of gold leftover in the streams and creeks. Paddling up the mirror reflexion Pieman River past the rare and endangered Huon Pine trees I drag the kayak up some small rapids to some old gold workings of the years since past.

Rob. I’ve just been binge watching your Videos. Got to say your productions are absolutely astounding. You are a hidden talent that showcases Tassie and National Parks has done Australia an immense disservice.

when we had clay to break down I found it easy to dry it out , break it up then dissolve it. Otherwise, the olde timers had puddlers built here and there on the gold fields powered by a horse walking in circles.

Hi Rob, I just wanted to leave a massive thank you for your excellent videos. My grandfather Robin Young has just passed away, he was a keen subscriber of your channel and fondly talks about your videos to all of those who share his interests. You brought him such joy being able to bring him along on your adventures in his beloved Tasmanian wilderness. Wishing you all the best for 2023, and looking forward to the next video.

Hey Jack, I'm very sorry it has taken me some time to read your comment. I remember Robin quite well, in fact I would dare say he was one of my most engaging subscribers, he left a comment on nearly every one of my videos. I'm deeply saddened to hear of his passing and wish you and your family well during the time of healing. Thanks for letting me know mate that means a lot to know you thought of telling me.

Hi Rob, love your work mate. I’m a bit of a historian on the Bermagui Mystery. In Oct 1880 Lamont Young, a NSW Geological Surveyor was ‘apparently’ heading to Corunna Lake to survey a potential gold deposit. He never made it, along with four other souls. They disappeared never to be found, thus far. Lamont visited Montreal Goldfields before his disappearance. Be a great retrace exploration story to tell … and maybe, discover the Mystery of Mystery Bay (NSW). Throw me a message if interested. Simon

Hi rob. Beautiful scenery once again. Was just wondering, when you could smell the forest, I have a bisistos diffuser oil called “ cradle mountain” . Man , if there was a perfume , I would wear it all day every day. Don’t know if you have ever smelled it, but if you have , is that what Tassie smells like?
