The 20th and 21st century have such ugly monuments and sculptures. Compare to the 18th century and earlier sculptures. Nobody builds buildings like that anymore. Absolutely stunning.

Yes, the palace is built on an island in the middle of the pond..

Te huge park, pond, Palace on the Water, all other houses and small palaces, amfitheatre - they all were built at the same time . It was at once the complex for the public usage. The sculptures, statues in the park were in many cases copies 1:1 of the ancient Greek and Roman sculptures
